My E-Mail's Been Down Today

Hiya's. If you've e-mailed me today, you might want to re-send your e-mails.

My e-mail was down most of today, along with my website, our church website, and church e-mail. There was a hacker attack on the data center where our sites are physically hosted.

The sites are back up and e-mail appears to be functional again, so try again if you did - especially if your e-mail bounced earlier.

Me too! My poor webhost was tearing his (non-existent) hair out, that's verbatim. ;)

My site's been up today, and so has the church site, but they're still having intermittent e-mail server problems. My apologies if anything you've sent has bounced. What's bad is, we had someone buy an item on eBay and he may think I'm blowing him off because he's gotten bounces and/or I haven't replied. I sent him an e-mail with an alternate address, just in case.

That's SO frustrating - glad to hear it's back up again now!

It's still up and down. Today I had to send my e-mail from my alternate address rather than the one I have at my domain, because something weird was going on with my ISP today!

My webhost said it looked like our ISP's DNS cache was corrupted and that's why I got back bounces from them saying my return address was invalid. It's been a real roller coaster the last three days. Can't imagine what it must be like for the webhost and the folks whose servers actually got hit!

GW, just letting you know that multiple e-mails to you and LB at the gardenwife.com domain are bouncing today. The webserver must be taking awhile to fix. :(

They're still having problems. I can't get e-mails at my domain address and the church one is messed up, too. My hubby and I administer our church's website and I take care of the e-mail addresses associated with it, and they're bouncing, too. There was another hack, a porno hack. A truly awful thing for a webhost who hosts many church and missionary sites. :(

I'm in the middle, unable to do do anything except write to the host and get updates on the status. This stinks!

Oh, I'm so sorry, GW! To be hacked is bad enough, but by a porn operation is really disgusting. Hope the webhost can unravel this knot soon.

My e-mail is still down, as is the church's. E-mails bounce saying there's no such user, or something like that. Please e-mail me through DG for the time being - I just make sure it has a working addy.

Thanks for the update, GW. I just e-mailed LB through Dave's Garden and we'll see what happens.

Oh, shoot - no I've not changed mom's e-mail yet! I have to set up her mail client to get the mail from the ISP, or set her back up with Yahoo or Hotmail.
