Hard to believe...

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

Davesgarden is hitting the 60,000 mark. That is bigger than my town! Just amazing...there were only a couple of 100 when I got here. It has been fun watching it grow and all the changes the site has gone through and still going stong.

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

Overwhelming!!!! :-)

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Just keeps growing by leaps and bounds! Is it any wonder? Na

I'm proud to be a part of this great family!

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

We used to think it was a big day when 10 people joined, now some days it is close to 200. I bet Dave never dreamed it would grow like something out of control. Just goes to show that people know a good thing when they see it.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Oh, so close...59,935 as I type this. I bet it'll be at 60K by noon tomorrow at this rate. Whooo!

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

59,938 as I type. I wonder when the growth will slow down? I also wish there was a way to find out how many are still online checking in at DG.

60,000!!!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

So what is the next big watch 100,000! Man I can't believe all these folks although this is the finest site on the web. I forget how many there were when I joined 2/21/01, but now that seems like such a long time ago and we have so many wonderful and knowledgeable people.
Thanks Dave, Trish and everyone else behind the scenes, you done all of us a big, HUGE favor by initiating this site!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Yowzah! 60,007 now. I was close, only off by about 45 minutes. This is amazing.

Does this number reflect only those with member ID's at DG, or does it include those who are signed up with PDB and Gardenwatchdog, but not DG?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I'm not as conversant in the stats as Dave, but I believe the population reflects everyone who has created a username allowing them access DG, the PDB, the GWD, Brugmansias.com and the PBM (aka Plants By Mail FAQ, a gardening directory we acquired last year, and are now working to merge with the GWD. The combined directory will have more than 10K comments, going back to the mid 90s.)

I joined when there were less than 700 members, and I remember how excited we were to hit 1,000. Someday soon, we'll be celebrating #100K - pretty amazing, huh?

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Woah. I'm just so pleased not only for you guys, but for all of US. What a resource, an encouragement, and blessing this site has been for us.

Franklin, LA(Zone 9a)

Not that it'll take all that long, but we shouldn't have to wait till 100,000 to get excited about DG.

Who wants to guess when it'll hit 75,000?

October sound right?

Dave already has a formula for that prediction! He has posted the approximate milestones somewhere, and said it had been following pretty true to his calculations. Not being of the more scholarly turn, I just hold my finger to the wind and guesstimate.

i am new to DG but am excited for everyone who has seen this site grow from its conception. It is a site that is informative exciting addicting and full of considerate, caring, and helpful ppl.Anyone who doesn't subscribe is only missing out on the full benefits and privledges to be had. Not to mention the wonderful ppl you can excange ideals with, pray for and with, get great deals on all kinds of stuff for the gardener in each of us, and just have a great time. I have never been on a www that I have enjoyed as much as DG!!Thank you soooo much Dave & Trish!!!

I am embarrassed to realize how much I resisted coming here. I was at "that other site" and really unhappy with it. When I was sent to Disney for being honest, I just didn't go back, but had no place to go. A friend told me a lot of our friends from "there" had gone to DG. I still ignored it. Finally, she convinced me to go, and it immediately became a part of each day's routine. All my friends are here, so it's necessary to check in. Otherwise, they will talk about me.

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

I keep hearing people referring to that 'other site' and I would love to know what it is. Can I get a hint without someone getting sued for libel or defamation of character or whatever it would be? HEE HEE I'm so bad....I am also so lucky 'cause DG was the first site I checked out and as you all know there was no need to look further.

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

OOPS! Sent it twice!
