There's just a speck showing up where a thumbnail normally shows...I noticed it earlier and thought it might just be one user uploading tiny images, but it's ongoing.
Latest PDB pics on sidebar?
I can see the newest picture fine, now - can you? It seems there were some buggy things going on overnight; we had several errors in the PDB heldesk about missing images, and the newsletter had many missing. However, they're all there now...
I still can't see the pics either. It has been missing for me since yesterday.
That's weird. I can see LisaCT's image of a Tarda Tulip just fine. Lisa, you might try rebooting and see if that clears up the problem.
nope
nope, I just rebooted..hmmm, I'll log out and log back in and see if that helps.
nope, that didn't work either.
When I first noticed it yesterday, I thought maybe the format was changing, so I didn't say anything. I forgot about what time I noticed it gone, I do know I was able to see a picture yesterday a.m., so it was sometime during the day, I am thinking in the afternoon hours.

Well, we've successfully plumbed the depths of my knowledge on the subject. Dave will have to take over from here!
It's the same way for me too. It was at home this morning and it is at work too.
Same here, I can only see thumbnail "images" of a few on the database newsletter. farizona
Me too....Jo
That's odd. I was doing some work on the Plants Database yesterday, and image processing was the main item that I was working on. I may have messed something up.
Incidentally, the images are working just fine for me.
Each of you who are having problems seeing the pictures, would you help me out? Go to this page http://davesgarden.com/nl.php?date=2003-07-14&site=pdb and make note of each picture that you cannot see. Then post here specifically which ones do not show up for you (or, if most don't show up, note that and perhaps let me know which ones did show up).
SOLVED: Never mind! No need for testing
Thanks,
Dave

Dave, I'm putting together a list, but I thought it interesting that I can see all the thumbnails using Netscape, hardly any using IE.
Cheri'
Dave i also noticed that picture thumbnails are missing sometimes at the PDB home page though it seems that the JPG's are being loaded when looking at the status bar.
When checking the source file the Width and height statements are blank
See below copy paste of source where the Schlumbergera didn't show up and the angel trumpet did show up)
Thaumaturgist
Christmas Cactus, Holiday Cactus, ZygocactusCactaceaeSchlumbergerax buckleyi
suncatcheracres
Angel Trumpet 'versicolor hybrid?'SolanaceaeBrugmansiaversicolor
PanamonCreel! You found the problem - very nicely done. I'll get this fixed soon.
Nobody needs to do anymore testing.
dave
oops copy paste didn't show up since items between are cut out in posts.
anyways thumbnail shows up if width height statement shows a value eg. width="100" height="67" and will not show up if value is blank eg. width="" height="".
Same for the newsletter link you send.
Hope that helps
hehe ignore the last post then.
ah, well then I won't post that long list.
Glad you got it fixed.
Cheri'
working fine now. thanks
Anyone who loads the Plants Database home page should see all pictures now - yes?
As far as I know, I have fixed all the pages (yesterday's newsletter is still broken - I won't be fixing it, but tomorrow's will be correct)
dave
All in good shape now :)
'tis gone again ..not showing up on the side bar for me.
I think it's Terry deleting pictures LOL
I'm soooooo sorry!!!!
The ones in the sidebar are showing up, but some at the link you posted, Dave, are not. I don't have time right this second to list the ones which don't. Here is one: http://plantsdatabase.com/showimage/20491.html
That one shows up fine for me, GW, but not the Flowering Quince on the right side.
There appears to be a problem with all three images posted by nkerr to this entry: http://plantsdatabase.com/go/909/ I didn't want to delete them until Dave has a chance to look and see if it's user error or something on his end.
Terry,
You can go ahead and delete those 3. It was a user error and the system should have given an error message back to the user. I'll fix that.
Dave
