Care to take a stroll with me?

Nashua, NH(Zone 5b)

A composite of my garden at different time of the years.

I have a city lot and I like to think of it as divided in 3 parts, more or less...the upper 40 , lower 40 and the shade garden (ok most are about 20'X 40')

Here is the upper part sunny and very dry:

Looking toward the lower part of the garden, which is mostly sunny and protected by the wind from the house.

I enjoyed the stroll through your gardens, they are lovely! Snow in May, what a surprise.

Lovely gardens.

Beautiful gardens. I really liked your pond; did you design it yourself? Also, what is the name of the Japanese Iris? It is gorgeous! The hosta path is lovely, too.

Thank you for all the nice comments!
The pond was planned with little thought to the final outcome, I knew I wanted a pond in that area and I started digging. I have very sandy soil and I used cinder blocks to shape and give support to the edges, I tried to make the pond as large as I could and also I tried to give it some curves. Below is a picture that explains it better.
The Iris was a gift from a friend of mine, it is a Hakubotan

What a great place you have. Hostas are so soothing, aren't they? You've done a wonderful job designing the pond. It is maturing into a spectacular place. Are there fish?

Beautiful!!! By the way....Welcome to Dave's Garden. Jo

I calculated that it is about 600+ gallons.
There are about a dozen goldfishes and they survived the winter under the ice!

Wow! Your pond definitely has a zen feel about it. Especially the winter shot. Goldfish do survive, and sometimes thrive, under the ice. If you don't mind, I'd like to save these shots into my "great designs" folder.
