How can you call them ditch lilies??!! They are a good, sturdy staple for the garden...but they do grow in every country road ditch in Missouri...lol

MossRose, when I say ditch lillies, I just mean the common (native) orange ones found in ditches all over the country. I DO have some of those, but am trying to collect some of the other daylily colors which I prefer.

Franklin, LA(Zone 9a)

I don't have any "ditch lilies" ... lol! Here, the commom daylily is the tall yellow, aka St. Joseph Daylily.

The most important thing to me, right now, is bloom time. I need some late bloomers! The only daylily I have blooming right now is Purple D'oro. Even the Stellas have quit due to the heat.

I think I just talked a friend out of a fan or two of those last ones you posted ( http://davesgarden.com/fp.php?pid=574599 ), if it's the same ones. They are still blooming up a storm in her garden!

Unfortunately, I have no red to trade, yet. I only got my first fan this year.

Ok Folks, I'm not sure if this will be of help or not but a neighbor of mine grows and sells about every type of day lily possible. Not sure what his prices are cause I've been afraid to stop. I'm sure I'd end up owing him my house!!!!! But if anyone is interested I'd be glad to nose around;)

Weeds, I can take you to a daylily farm about 20 miles from me. Her prices are great compared to the prices I have seen online. Memorial weekend and the following week she had a 30 percent off sale, I went twice. Course all I buy are the cheap ones at 3 to 7 dollars and then 30 percent off. She doesn't sell fans at that price, she sells clumps. Whatever comes up with the shovel. I really went for beautiful large blooms in yellow (evening tulip, slipper silk, calistoga sun, bright beacon, work of art, Lois Burns), then a gorgeous red/yellow spider daylily (red thrill), and a few others. She also had some other things, I got a huge clump of tropical sunset canna for $3, also picasso, and peach blush. Got a good clump of red hot poker for $3 and a large clump of agapanthus(lily of the Nile) for $3. These are her regular prices. She's only open on weekends. Weeds, lmk if you ever want to come up, I know she sold out of some of the daylilies, but I think she still had some left too. I can always check with her before we made a trip.
