Storing Pictures Online?

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

I have a couple pictures that I want to print out. A good friend has a high photo quality printer, and has volunteered to let me print a few of my nature shots from recent trips. However, I can't justify burning an ENTIRE cd just for three to five shots. My CD_burner isn't such that I can add more later, either. Once I burn, that's it, the CD is "closed" and won't let me add more.

Is there somewhere online that I can store a few good-sized photos (about 700Kb), even if only temporarily?

TIA,
-Jennifer

Does your ISP offer a free web page for you? You could store them there. Curious, why do you want to store them online? Can't you just email them to her to print?

If you print pictures like you're talking about; print on photo paper, as they turn out so much nicer than just on regular printing paper.

AngelSong,,,there's http://www.webshots.com/ and http://www.hpphoto.com/servlet/com.us.LoginNew?com=usBanner&awp=index3.html&DIRECT=show&goNext=photosharing

Hope this helps. They are both free.

Darius - I'm sure they do, but I haven't a clue where they're hiding it. :)

CoCo - yeah, we're going to use Photo paper. I'm anxious to see how pretty some of them come out. Going to use a few in some frames for home and office decoration.

MossR - that's it! :) Thank you!!

Thanks all...

Jennifer, good to see you posting. I was worried about you! Hope you get your picture issues resolved!

You can always store them in your personal garden journal here (just be sure you choose "no watermark" while you're adding them), then point your friend to that page to copy them.

I'm here, vic. If you're ever looking for me, my email from here works, and is checked daily. :) I read more than I post, as I don't usually see places where I can offer something helpful. I'm most active on the Pets forum, with my two furchildren. ;)

Terry - great idea, but DG auto-resizes pictures, and I don't want to resize until a printed out size is chosen. That's why I was hunting for a space for the images. Thanks anyways ...

Jennifer, I don't think we do; I just took a gander at some of the pictures submitted yesterday, and they're all over the board on size :)

In the journals I do no processing at all on the images (no resizing). The resizing only occurs in the main public areas - the journals and tradelists aren't touched.

Greetings Friend,
You might want to give www.dotphoto.com a try. You can upload your photos, store them, print them in gloss or matte finish, let others view with a watermark on your photo's so that they can't be copied. Prints are very reasonable and they don't charge for storage. Hope this helps.
