Going on a cruise

Santa Clara, CA(Zone 9a)

We are going on a cruise to Alaska next week, this is our first cruise and are really looking forward to it. My DH's parents are taking all us kids for their 50th wedding anniversary so it's going to be his whole family.

I think I have all my yard on some sort of a watering system, so that part will be OK. The only downfall about going right now is the apricots and the plums are all going to be ripe. I have told my neighbors to help themselves, I hate to have all that fruit go to waste.

Has anyone else been on a cruise? If so, how did you like it, do you have any tips?

Hi Kathy, one of my friends went on a cruise to Alaska. She said it was the most beautiful place she had ever seen. (they have traveled many places too) They ended up seeing a glacier 'calving' something that is not seen by many. Somehow they had a mutial friend to the Captian of the boat and he let them stay on the Capt. Bridge for most of the trip. She said they were treated like "royality" the whole trip, which made it extra special. I hope you have a good time.

Kathy you will love it. I haven't been on a cruise as such but in the old days used to travel by troop ship to other countries and we would dock in Gibraltar for the most part. The Bay of Biscay was pretty rough and had to take sea sickness pills, but I doubt that the calm waters you will be taking will affect you. Looking forward to seeing those photos!!! Have a wonderful trip!

I have only been on a Caribbean cruise and it was beautiful and wonderful and so much fun!! I hear Alaska is gorgeous, with wonderful scenery, neat critters, etc. Take a camera so the rest of us can pretend. LOL

LOL, my DH is taking the digital camera and figures he can take about 600 high quality pictures. I think he may see the whole trip through he camera lense.

600?? Is that it?? I'll need more than that. ;) I hope you have a great time!
