i have a stupid question about the journals{mind u i love the concept]but i am not doing somethiing right.when u start your catagories how do you add items to them? i don't know what i am doing wrong but its really frustrating me. I LOVE THIS SITE!! maybe someone could help cause I am pulling out my hair!!!!

if you've added categories, then just click on the category you want to add an item to. There will be a link that says click here to add items, or something like that. click it.

add your info, then submit.

hope that helps

Roof, maybe it's just us Michiganders having trouble with the journals -- fortunately we have Cheri to help us out! (and I'm sure many others, but she happened to help me with figuring out how to start a "to do" list)

Happy gardening!

Was this it? http://davesgarden.com/t/251387/

The link Terry put up is what made it work for me. I actually printed that whole thread for a reference.

Terry, this problem could be virtually eliminated if there were a permanant link to that thread on every journal page as a help button or a FAQ button so it would be simple for newcomers and us oldies alike to find.

Terry,

Yes!!! I think this is it.... thanks so much for the info. I guess I have no excuse but to do now, huh? :-O

Jul, if you need help, just holler.

Zany, that thread should probably be cleaned up and made a bit more succinct for an FAQ. If I can find a stringless finger, I'll tie a rope around it to remind myself to work on it ASAP (*grin*)...

Seriously,I need to finish the Co-op FAQ first and foremost, then get the roses loaded in the PDB, and try to help Baa, Sue and Arsenic with the helpdesk queue, and make sure the Watchdog and Plants By Mail are ready to be merged, and, and, and...the list goes on and on....

Not to mention my real garden is trying to take off and grow after a soggy start this spring, so my keyboard keeps getting jammed up with dirt and stuff from my fingers! Oh yeah, and my kids seem to think that summer vacation means doing FUN STUFF like soccer camp, church camp, swimming...they have a neverending list for me to shuttle them back and forth ;o)

LOL So you will take care of it in your spare time when you get a brand new roundtuit! Works for me!

Thanks for the offer of help Terry.

After reading your post, I will make every effort to be a big girl and figure it out, you have lots on your plate, not to mention, Baa, Sue and Arsnic.

Wow, thanks you guys for the time! I, for one, appreciate it.

Hellohhh Daaaave!
To spare Terry from having to answer the same questions repeatedly, why not finally have a 'Journal Tutorial' accessible from the DG Homepage already?

Edited to say:"Hellohhh Daaaave!"
