edit thread?

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

When I post a reply to a thread "edit" is printed under my name. I don't see it listed on other peoples replies. Why is it doing this? And is this the right forum for this question? Thanks.

it's so you can edit your own post if you need to. we all have it under our own name, you just can't see ours:)

If I can't see yours that means you can't see mine. Sounds like one of the rules from grade school! Thanks for your help. I love it when I start feeling like a know what I'm doing - at least a little bit!

You will find that Dave has built in quite an amazing number of little tricks like this. When I first joined, I saw the column on the left and it said "new" next to my name. A few days later, I noticed it said that next to other names, but not mine. I assumed it meant new member. But it kept not following the rules, and when I started a thread it seemed to be cautioning others that I was new again. Finally, someone else asked the question I had, and I was amused to learn the truth.

Once, I did something that changed some of my preferences. I didn't realize it, but I had removed all of the lines between posts. It was during a time when some things were being changed by Dave, and I silently wished he would leave the page the way it was when I first joined. Finally, I checked something in preferences, and decided to tweak around a bit. Voila! My page looked right again.

Just this week, I learned that if you hold your mouse over the state that appears beside a member name on a thread and click it, it will show you all of the members from that state. Hope I stated that right.

Our webmaster is a talented and creative kind of guy. And he has surrounded himself with some pretty awesome assistants.

Well, I learned something just now from Aimee. I didn't know that you could hold the arrow over the state name by the members name, click, and see all the members in that state. It works! I never cease to be amazed at the genius of Dave.

This is exciting! I love learning new stuff. I just tried Aimee's tip of holding the arrow over the state and clicking it and it worked. But that led me to another question. When I am going down the list of member names and get to the bottom of the first page do I have to go back to the top of that page to click on next? Or is there a faster way to move to the next page?

You can also click on the zone to get a list of members for that zone. Looks like everything in either blue (new links) or green (visited links) text is a link to something. Mary Ann
