Please Read if we're trading.

I want to apologize to those of you who I owe trades to. Before joining Dave's I'd never known anything like trading, co-ops, seeds and plants for SASE. I got so excited about not having to put "extras" on the compost pile and incredibly generous gardeners willing to share plants, flowers, seed, veggies etc. But, I didn't factor in carefully packing plants for shipping, making sure I'd enclosed everything asked for in SASE trades, INCLUDING stamps, let alone potting up and nurturing plants you'd sent me that spent a day or two extra at the post office after having been stranded out of town (car broke down, twice in one trip), or starting veggies and flowers from seed (my first time ever doing this). I thought I'd catch up last week but I arrived home from the "break down" trip with some lousy virus, and two boxes of plants that needed attention. They only got potted up this last weekend. I think all but one will survive, and thrive. I spent 6 hours yesterday, and then went back to bed.

I do have a small request. Those of you who have uncompleted trades with me, please ALL of you, if you would send me an e-mail with "trades", that is trades with no quotation marks, in the subject, and remind me what I still need to send you along with your address I will get out what I promised. If you did not receive postage in a SASE, I know, sounds pretty stupid, but it happens let me know too. Someone out there requested hollyhock plants. I have some now, that my dog has not gotten to, and won't. I would like to get them to you.

Those of you who thought I'd run out of iris, I still have some for you. I ran in to a slight problem in that there seem to be a few lavender irises in the bed I thought were all white. Because they are so crammed in there, and I didn't get a chance to feed them, many didn't bloom. So, I can't guarantee they will all be white. The few that did bloom I marked. I think there were three white and two lavender, can you believe out of hundreds!

One last comment. I really don't think I need to add this, but I will anyway. Please, if we haven't already discussed a trade, don't ask. As my health improves, and in between my work commitments I will send out all I have promised. If I don't get an e-mail from you or if you try to be kind and tell me not to worry about sending my end of the trade, I will be forced to look through my records (these are also not good!) to find what we'd agreed on.

It's been a long time since I'd gotten in this far over my head. I hate it. And, I want to do the right thing. Thanks for helping me out here!

Cathy, Thank you for the honest report on your situation. I guess it would be easy to get over extended when doing something you love. I know I have to be careful! I hope you get to feeling better soon, ((((hugs))))
