Why don't the latest post go to the top of the thread list? I don't know about everyone else but I can never find where someone posted in that forum...

Always wondered about that meself, poppysue. So confusing I quit going there.

(Course now, I also thought they were closed forum/post...didn't know we could add to them.) (See what a dimwit I is?) (or am) (or will be).

Hey Poppysue and Shoe I've always wondered too. Of course I'm such a twit with the computer I don't even know how to begin a new post/thread, so I just tag along.Sure in awe of those who can even post a picture!

Glad to see I'm not the only one. Maybe this is something we can talk Dave into changing?............

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Hard for me too...got to scroll down the list to get to the ones that I can help with.

Manhattan Beach, CA(Zone 11)

In the list of Threads You are Watching they are identified by WHO last added. In the list of Threads in a Forum it is by "Topic Starter". That does not correlate and always confuses me.

It works OK for me in all the other forums, but like you poppysue I can never find the latest post in FAQ. So, like you Horseshoe, I have given it up.....

Palm Coast, FL(Zone 9a)

Yes, I'm having a problem also! I had 28 watched threads at one point, and, have unchecked them all and simply go to the different forums now to see if there is anything that pertains to what I'm trying to learn!

It's confusing to me, but then again, I'm one to confuse easily! LOL :)

I think the reason the latest posts don't go to the top is because this is intended to be an archive, and the threads are grouped by subject.

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

Yes, I think you're right Terry.
How does one find the latest post though?

Mount Angel, OR(Zone 8a)

If you go to the forums listing shown over at the right, it brings up all the forums and who has made the latest post to any of the forums and if you can remember who made the last post and possibly when you can at least see that someone else has added to that thread and then click to the thread and scroll down till you get to that post. And then you can always click back to the forums list as your reference.Am I making any sense? This works for me.

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

Yes that would work for all the other forums, but I have no problem with them. It's only the FAQ

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

It's because it's an archive and in subject rather than date order.
I don't really see any way round it and in the scheme of things that's probably not too important.
It's better to be able to use it for the stored info - it was never intended as a chat forum

I press ctrl F and then type in the date i.e. Jun 23, works every time

Thanks Baa, I'll give it a whirl

I went ahead and changed the sort ordering to go by date like all the other forums. Consistency and all that.

Hi Dave! Thanks. I think that's much easier, I can already see a bunch of posts I missed.

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

Yes I've found some too :)

I hope people will still be OK looking for a topic they want to find

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Thanks Dave! That is a BIG help!! I can see several that I've also missed reading. I think that if you are looking for a specific topic, they will still be easy to find because they are listed alphabetically by subject matter.

I hope that when ALL OF YOU are reading different posted messages on various forums, that you remember to either contact Dave and/or Terry to include that particular posting in the F.A.Q. forum. Please remember that it needs to be broad enough to interest many gardeners in various growing zones. The F.A.Q. forum is an on-going process!!!! It is available to all members/subscribers at different levels of gardening. Again, please let Dave or Terry know if you think a particular thread should be posted on the F.A.Q. forum, so that everyone will have the valuable information at their fingertips.

DAVE/TERRY-is there a way to alert gardeners, especially new members, to possibly suggest valuable informational threads that may contribute to this ongoing process??? Could a "reminder" be posted (in a different font or color) at the top of the F.A.Q. forum???
