No pictures on any forums

I've been on Daves all morning and had no problem with viewing pictures. Now I just came back this afternoon, and there are no pics visible anywhere. What's up?

And here I just spent the last hour clearing my cache repeatedly (and fussin' at it the whole time - it was rather full, and balking at clearing all the way out.)

I just tried it myself. It's the IE problem again. Works on a non-IE browser. Works fine on Opera for example.

Just tried Netscape. Works on that one too.

Which picture is causing the problem? Does anyone know? I'd like to solve this problem, once and for all.

I have netscape and I'm not able to load pictures either
Oh Dave, I'm so sorry you have to play Mr. fix-it again. Oh, and guess what? I have a picture of a baby deer that looks like a cousin to the one you posted a few weeks ago!

Internet explorer 6.0, Netscape and Opera browsers here *lol* Same problem. Neither thumbnails or pictures will load. The page loads fast (ADSL), but even a single thumbnail takes forever. I hope you can fix it without running through all the base codes.

last time when it was an IE problem, I couldn't see pics from home but it was fine from my computer at work, this time, I can't see pics even from here at work, :(

Still the same here. IE, no good...Opera, works fine.

When I go to the Photos forum, there is one picture that loads and it is What is this 3? by psilo. This too is strange. This is on IE.

Edited to say that I'm getting all the images on Netscape.

Am I the only one who is not having problems? I use Opera for browser and have not had any problems at all.

I visited GW and no pictures either and also another US website with San Pedro cactusses. Curious??? No pictures either. That was IE ...

Dave, I've been to other brug forums (BGI and BrugBuds)while using IE and they have no pictures either. Netscape is working everyplace. This isn't sounding like a problem only here, but more of an IE problem, but what do I know.......

All DG pictures are loading fine for me so far on IE.

Dave, I get no photos here using WorldNet or IE.

No problems here either; using IE, Phoenix or Opera...

That's just amazing. Stunning, in fact!! What on earth is causing this problem?!?! And, most puzzling, is that it affects sites other than this one.

Question: Can you see the logo? How about the 9/11 ribbon on the bottom of the pages?

Very perplexing. I wonder if it is a problem with jpg rendering. This is flabbergasting.

BTW - I just tried with Internet Explorer 6 on Windows 98, and not a single problem. All the images are showing up peachy keen.

Seems to be working fine for me now so thank you so much for whatever you did - or didn't do LOL....Now to get down to some serious picture posting.....

Ooops. Opening two things at once (I cleaned up my mess over there, too!)

Here's what I said:

No logo, no 9/11 ribbon. If I dump my cache, I can catch the logo for the first few clicks on the site, but then it goes away. No pictures at all. I can't tell you what image causes it, because I don't think I'm clicking on one before the logo and other graphics go blank again...

I'm getting the logo, ribbon and all the pictures. No problem here. I have IE.

I'm cleaning up some pictures right now so hopefully the problem will go away. We had this problem a few months ago and I wrote a script to clean up the images.

I disabled that script when we moved into our new server, thinking the problem may have been solved for good. It must not be, so I've re-enabled the script to continue to run indefinitely. :( At least it's a solution! :)

I think the problem is somewhere in yogaman's images: http://plantsdatabase.com/imagesbyuser.php?user=yogaman - there was one of his images up on the DG page (I think) when I kept encountering the problem.

Yes, yogaman's picture is what triggered my browser to finally crack. My script will get to him eventually (it's on the g's right now).

I wasn't aware that I wasn't seeing pictures but this afternoon my computer froze, a couple of times. Didn't help if I rebooted. I did notice something about yogaman, only because it was unusual. Reboot, yogaman again.

Knock on wood! No problems here, but just came aboard around 10pm Pacific Time.

Ugh, Dave! The problem is baaaaack this morning. And it appears to be the same member's images causing the problem. I'm in the process of switching ISPs (for a different reason) and browser, but I just found out I can't use Google's toolbar with any browser other than IE. That gives me great pause to switch, because I use Google literally hundreds of times a day...

I noticed problems just after a new picture from same person was loaded this morning too.

Still loading on Opera and Netscape. Yogaman's pictures as well.

Well, last night when everyone else was having a problem, I was seeing pics no problem. Now this morning they're all gone on IE but work fine in Opera.

yogaman is uploading pictures, and before my script can fix them, you guys are loading them up and it's killing your browser.

I set my script to run every 5 minutes (instead of once per hour) so the pics will be cleaned faster. Still, there is a potential 5 minute window in which you may still have trouble. I'll look into a long-term solution to this.
