Shirley I think yours is just the miniature version-for feeding a small family. :) It thinks it's a hosta?? Mine is already in the ground, been there several days?? The third leaf is way happy too. It has not dropped any and is well over two feet tall. Oh, mine is full sun and has always been. Is that bad?

From the top...funny thing I am noticing-each leaf comes out bigger than the first and from the center. Hmmmm.

Bob, we got enough rain and wind to last me a while. I went out after the first rain and staked up some castor beans and a couple of the brugs. Now, I have to go do some more. I think it is about done and then it should be clear sailing for a couple of days. Toni and the girls will be here tomorrow and I can't get into the garden to pick peas and dig potatoes for them. Oh well.....
With that looks of that thing you are pointing with, you can bet your buns, I am looking hard and I will see anything you want me to! LOL So, you want me to cut off all but the center leaf or it too? Hmmm, so I can have one monster leaf or more smaller ones? The second leaf was the size of a piece of paper. Hmmmmm. When do I stop wacking of leaves then?

Michele, I babied a Alocasia Mac. during the winter and when Doc planted it, he knifed it to death. Took all but one leaf off of it and I had worked so hard to get those darned leaves. LOL!!
LOL Did you give him tea with too much sugar?? LOL It was kind of fun to show off that first and second and third leaf and now he is telling me to go back to one?!?! :) Well, how did the mac turn out??
I don't think we should even talk about it. It might make Doc put that knife away. I'm afraid it only has one little leaf now. Poor thing just couldn't get over the surgery. Been tempted to dig it up and put it in a pot.
Oh no! Here I sit with a butcher knife in one hand, umm a cold beverage in the other. what to do, what to do??!! LOL I think I'll keep looking at it, empty one hand, awww, what the heck! I'll empty the other hand too and get a refill. :)
I'd say that as well as yours is doing, leave it alone. Just take care of the beverages and don't worry about the ears.
LOL Well, considering I had a lovely day with Hank and Vic and too much time in the sun, I think I'll plop my fanny in front of a fan or hop back in the pool and realize tomorrow is another day. :)
wish I had a pool to plop, flop, or just plain get in to beat the heat, but too many trees around our yard and the leaves would be too much to keep out. Have a good night!!
Brugie, years ago I got a pool at Big Lots that you just sat on the ground and filled. It was eight feet across and like 18" deep. I used to get in there and lay down. It sure was nice when I had kids so I didn't look so foolish. LOL They are cheap too and you can just empty them at night. :)
Sounds like a plan. I might just have to do that if the summer heat comes back like I am sure it will.
Seed,this is the one above a few days later,I used a 4inch wire like fence,maybe 4ft around,cut the trunk to 3ft in fall,then fill the wire with dry leaves.

Hey Bob, my Zebrina you brought me has a pup about six inches tall now. I didn't even see it until yesterday. That might tell you something about the flower bed now known as the JUNGLE!!
I did not mind well Doc. I left the leaves on my Melanga alone. LOL Okay, it was too much to do and not disobedience. But I noticed yesterday I have a fourth leaf! :)

ok, my ducks have plucked and picked my melanga to death! I am going to put a big 6 ft fence around it so I can just see one leaf actually come out! And if I ever get a leaf to show I will take a picture of it...but with all the plucking it gets the leaf should be huge when it comes out!!!

So, what is the name of this one? I can see a bit of variegation. I have one now!! Yippee.........it just didn't have a tag in the pot.
Forgot to say that it is looking really good. Has made some good growth since I last saw it.
