Belfast Zoo has asked me to be in their education suite to talk to people about bats and give 2 talks each day.
They would like me to be their on July 19th and 2 Saturdays and two Sundays in August - my choice. They are gonna pay me too!

I hope it's not peanuts LOL

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Mark, that is just great!! so happy for you.

Mark, how wonderful for you to have this opportunity to educate people about bats -- and to be paid as well! I wish you well and hope that your talks will evolve into regular offerings at the education suite (if you enjoy the experience).

Congratulations! Bats are losing habitat and suffering from the use of insecticide. They need all the help they can get and educating people about their benefits and disspelling the fear are so important. You go.

How about if you get a grant to come to a sister city: Belfast, Maine? Bats are second only to dogs as my favorite people. At dusk the "Little Brown" bats cruise over-head. They come pretty close because I know I'm drawing the bugs. I can toss up a stone that they chase for a second or two. I'd rather have them eat the bugs tho.. Should I see if Maine Audubon Society will sponser a trip to here for you? The Bangor Area Transit bus system has a bat on all thier busses. (Trams?) Please excuse ineptitude. Frank

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Congrats, Mark. I am so happy for you and I hope that this turns into a full time position for you in the future. I know you will do well. Lani

Congradulations Mark:

What a wonderful opportunity.
I've just gotten interested in Bat's.
We breed bugs here in S. Jersey, especially mosquitos!
A worry as I have animals.

By chance do you have plans for a bat house?
I'm an avid birder and just recently discovered that I like bats!
Lot's A Luck.

Hi Tig:
Do you still have the bat plans?

Butterflies are plentiful here I have many plants that attract them

If you have plans for a butterfly house plan I'll welcome that also.

Mark enjoy your journey. Hopefully this is the start of a wonderful career!

We need interns to count hawks in the fall down here! Sandy
