Do YOU know what a ladybug egg looks like?

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

Just thought I would share this little bit of info so that if you come across these funny looking things in your search for the bad bugs you wont kill them off.
This link shows the eggs and the larvae and we all know what the adult looks like but just thought we all should know this.
Hope you find it as interesting as I did.

Your very welcome Butterflygal.

I think most all the gardeners here love the ladybugs in their gardens, but some of them don't know what they look like before the adult stage..

Welcome to the Garden :)

I just knew what they were going to look like...I just scraped a bunch off a leaf today...

They look like small black ticks in the larvae stage :~(
And since ticks are awful here in the spring and summer I have probably killed thousands of these by mistake over the years!

Zany, I too have done the exact same thing before. Having boys that love to run thru the woods, I am always on the lookout for ticks. I have killed the black larvae several times before I knew what they were. But not now :) I know what they look like and I usually just take them off and put them on a plant somewhere.

RATS...think I killed a bunch of larvae the other day. They were on my Japanese maple and looked really creepy!
