Thanks what kind of things do you collect and could you post a couple of pictures?

I have many things from my g-father's time, even g-g-father's. They have become antiques where they are! I collect coins, stamps, buttons, comics, clips. Now the hobbies are waning due to family pressures but when the items are seen, I feel like grabbing them! I mean to say that the thrill is missing, not completely though. Some old toys and dolls belonging to the 1930s I think are still preserved - some are made in Japan. I hope to post a photo some day.

wind, I tried to take a picture of the dust bunnies, but they just wouldn't sit still!!!!

Dinu it sounds like you have a lot of treasures from your grandfather and I would love to see some of your dolls. I also collect dolls from The Franklin Mint, dolls like Marilyn Monroe, Rett Butler and Scarlet and Princess Di. I also have some cabbage Patch dolls from the 80's....the list goes on.

Lol Kathleen, you can borrow some of mine they don't move.

LOL kathleen, you and I must be collecting the same things, wanna trade? or I can generously give you some of mine. I have plenty - I'll even pay the postage....

Dinu, I too would like to see some photos of your collectibles,

Wind, I have not seen the little people on the merry go round? is that what it is? what are they? I guess they must have been a big thing at one time or another?

I collect lots of things. I have antiques in my home so I am always on the lookout for reasonably priced items. I go to garage sales and I still find that the best place to find things and sometimes the prices are quite cheap because people just want to get rid of the "that old junk" to buy something new. I also collect old or new angels, santas, cats, bells, garden objects and things that can be re-salvaged as in tv's "Decorating Cents" segment with Rod Whitlaff. Sp???

And Coors Rosebud along with a Mexican theme in the kitchen. Yes, peaking through the cupboard door are stacks of Rosebud. Can't get enough of this stuff.

LOL, Wind and Pebble, I think I'll just stay with my homegrown variety!

Actually, I do collect marbles, have some lovely old ones including an honest to goodness Bennington, but for the most part I just gather them, rather than seriously seeking them out. I also have lots of shells, evergreen cones and leaves that I have plans for sometime in the very near future (haven't been to the shore in more than 10 years, so that's how the future works!). I also have a rather extensive fabric collection.

My mother deals in antiques and she has given me a lot of china with floral themes including a partial set of tea cups and saucers from my father's family that has Scotish thistles. I have two incomplete cocoa sets that were made in Japan.

It's funny how things creep up on you! By the way Wind, I'm sorry to hear that you were robbed!

I have enjoyed reading about all the things listed here so far, thanks for sharing.

Kathleen you are so lucky, would your mother consider adding another daughter to the family lol.

Every time I think about all the things I had the first issues of in the comic dept it makes me sick. I was a serious collector and had eight boxes filled with comics. I had the very first of Spawn which came out in the 70's, also all of the X-Men issuses except the first one, Fantastic Four,Dazzler,Silver Surfer, The Hulk,Spiderman, some real old Superman,Wonderwoman(who was my hero),Doctor Strange, the list goes on, all were in excellent or good condition. I would always buy two of each so I could read one and keep one.
