Datura Near Tomatoes?

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

Help! A friend gave me seeds to a datura that has large, pendulous white flowers with a beautiful scent. They only bloom in the late evening and night. My friend planted several seeds in the same place and they grew into a bushy cluster like a bush. She says they are called Moonflowers where she is from, but they are NOT the morning-glory-like moonflower that you plant and they are a vine that blooms at night. I know for a fact that my seeds were a datura of some kind.

I planted mine the same way in the only place left in the yard that has full sun like they need. Here's the problem. My tomatoes are only about 4 to 5 feet from where I planted the seeds. Will the tomatoes be safe to eat? There are also some firecracker vines next to the seeds but if they die it wouldn't be the end of the world. Someone told me they would be OK where they are. But will the tomatoes on the plants be harmful to eat? I need to know before the datura comes up so I can try to dig up all of the seeds I put in the hole I dug for it.

the tomatoes will be safe, the problem with them is they share the same viruses, not that they can change the fruit of the tomato. Tomato plants are poisonous themselves.
