Wind, it looked like an urban legend, so I took a gander on Google.

Here are two explanations, this one is from Snopes: http://www.snopes.com/rumors/ups.asp

and this one from About.com's urban legends: http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/bl-ups-uniforms.htm

(Fortunately for me, my UPS guy buys tomato plants from me and occasionally takes a tour around my garden to see what's growing. I don't have to worry - I know exactly who to expect in the brown truck - and of course, he's almost always delivering more plants, lolol!)

Thanks Terry for the info, I received this email from a friend and just wanted to know if anyone else had received one as well and if there was any truth to it.

They make us turn in our old uniforms, and now with the new logo they will be making us wear the new ones, not the old ones........

What next? Talk about terror alert! You won't know who is friend or foe.....

Thanks for the info - just like Terry here, the UPS man and me and Steve are like a little family here. I don't shop except through mail order so every day there is some sort of package coming our way and the UPS man is always willing to chat!

Windsurffer, sometime back I came across and bookmarked a web site that has info on email rumors etc. Here it is:
http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/ups-ebay.htm
"Truthorfiction.com" has been a helpful instrument on several occasions and if I find a message is fiction I dont send it on.
Regarding the "UPS" uniforms they say it is fiction.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, but I am not worried about it now.

The big problem is not your UPS delivery driver bringing you a bomb or something, the problem is that if terrorists get a hold of say a UPS vehicle, package car,Tractor trailer.........well,UPS can get into a lot of locked gates, and past guards.

And now they make us put locks even on our empty trailers just so a terrorist can't put something in one of our trailers going inside places.......
