Does anyone know how to keep snakes from coming in your house? My son called us from up north last week and told us he came into his bedroom to watch some TV and glanced up on top of the TV and lying on top of the TV was a snake. He is not sure what kind it is. He captured it and is trying to find out what kind of snake it is. What can he do to keep the snakes from coming iside the house. Is there something you can put around the perimeter of the house to keep the snakes from coming in. Had a mice problem a few months ago and had to call an exterminator and mice are gone and now snakes. What next?

Snake on TV!!!!!
they are looking for the mice!!!LOL
For one; keep your grass cut short.
If you have shrubs or other tall growth around foundation of your house; cut or trim down, for snakes like to travel and hide in tall growth.
To keep snakes from being attracted to your garage or house – particularly during dry periods – another good practice is to have gravel, rather than dense vegetation next to all buildings and to seal all cracks and openings. That will eliminate snakes’ cover and traveling space, as well as reduce the potential for termites and other insects.

Oh dear...we found a copperhead near my cold frame and I could hardly see it, so well camouflaged!! I think they are looking for places to mate.....keep an eye open for the 'other one'!!
We went up to the camp last weekend. Hadn't been up since end of last Oct. Mice had been everywhere. Thought camp was bug tight but found out mice had been coming in the drain hose for the Sun-mar toilet, then jumping out the 1 1/2" air vents on the sides to get in. Duct tape cured that for now. Can I get screened vent plugs? Had a nice paddle on the river anyway.
CATS CATS CATS if you can stand them :0 I keep several out and 2 in no snakes here D
