What has been your most bizarre or supernatural experience?
One of the strangest and pleasant for me is:
When my father was growing up, his parents died when he was just 4 and he was raised by a mean uncle. He was on his own by age 15 but maintained a fairly close relationship later on with his brothers. He didn't earn much money, but every time he visited his niece and nephew who were very close to him, upon his departure they would always find small bills hidden under sugar bowls or in a drawer or cupboard.
My father passed away in 1986. I have an old railroad trunk in my living room that is packed full of memorabilia from years and years (old cards, the kids clothing they wore from the hospital, old diaries, great grandma's cookbook and other treasures). I only get into this trunk once a year or so and haven't for the past two and here is why:
Every time I would start going through the trunk, I would come across a ten dollar bill in something. Once it was in a funeral card written after my mom's death. Another time there was $10 in my dad's wallet. On another occasion there was $10 in my son's homemade card from a kindergarten class.
I guess he is still up to his old tricks! It always gives me such a divine chill when I get in that trunk as I always knew I was being blessed and watched over.
I have told this story a few times and always now make the joke "Hey dad, $10 just doesn't cut it these days LOL"
All kidding aside, it is just a very touching moment to know they are with me.
What's the Strangest...?
That is a lovely story. What a great treasure your father must have been (and still is)
Thanks, I forgot to mention where the money went. My son has the flag from dad's burial and every time the ten dollars shows up, I give it to him and he puts it in the fold of the flag. Don't think it was meant for anything except a sign and Tim is very driven to hang on to the memories of the hidden money.
I guess the weirdest for me was when I drove across the railroad tracks and right through a train that I didn't even see at all. I never said anything about it and my son was only 3 at the time and a few years out of the blue he came up to me and said, "Mom, remember when I was little and we drove through that train?" I didn't think he would have remembered it and I was in shock. We sat there and discussed it that day and came to the conclusion that Nicholas, my son who passed away at age 2days, must have been watching out for us on that day. It almost happened again on another day but my ex was with me in the car at that time and screamed like mad and made me stop the car. I never saw a train but there it was, going passed right in front of me. I thought my heart was going to stop. I don't tell this to too many people as most just think I'm nuts...........LOL
What an experience, I don't think you are nuts. I believe that the strangest things do happen - must have been quite a discussion you had after all that time with your son. Thanks for sharing.

There is this strip of highway on I-75 that I swear is surrounded by some supernatural powers. I drove this strip every day, back & forth for 10 years. At first I didn't notice anything. One day my car just stopped. I mean the engine just turned off and there I was coasting and trying to get off to the side of the highway. I was so weirded out that the car would just die like that. I called DH on cell phone and he asked if I'd tried to start the car again ~ dope! I hadn't but when I did, it started just fine.
Okay, that may be just freaky car stuff. But, it awakened my senses. After that experience and only on occasion, I would experience weird vibes, strange sightings, whatever. It was enough to pull me out of my 45 minute commute brain zoning.
If I ever were to try to make contact with supernatural powers, that's where I would go!
I have some friends who frequently visit their family vacation home, I've gone with them a few times, once we were thinking of taking the dogs for a walk and my friend said, "I know there are some leashes here somewhere" and moments later we heard a noise in the hallway and sure enough, a dog leash that had been hanging there on a hook had fallen to the floor. My friend just picked it up and said "Thanks Aunt May" they explained to me that his great aunt used to live there and since she died, things like that happen a lot, she's still there making sure everyone has a good time while they visit. that same weekend we got up one morning and found the pull-down stairs to the attic had been pulled all the way open during the night, and once a cupboard in the kitchen opened up right in front of us while we were talking about what to have for dinner. For years they always set a place for her at the head of the table, and no one sits there because that's where she likes to sit, you can feel her there, happy in her home.
Great stories, I just love to read about these unusual happenings. As for happy in the home, I guess I'll be haunting this place for years to come LOL!
Great stories everyone. Here's mine: I was horse and house sitting for a weekend years ago. My mom had taken my daughter to see relatives and when she left she said she wasn't sure that they would come right back to town. They might decide to go to the country house for a while first. She said she would call to let me know.
At the time they where leaving I was drifting off to sleep in a sofa, and all of a sudden I see my mom and everybody else standing on my cousins doorstep. My mom hollered to her BF "Come on Göran we have to hurry up and get back to Hökvattnet"
That is the country house.
Later that day she called to tell me where she was, and I said I already know that. She asked how I would know, and I told her exactly what she had said and where everybody had been standing at the time. I was right on the money, I could place 8 people in the spot they had been.
It has never happened again. I wish it would because that was a great experience.
That gives me goose bumps
here's another one. This happened a few years ago when I was living with this guy. He had a red pontiac transam that I usually drove and then we had what I call a boat. Can't remember exactly what kind of car it was but it was one of those long ones like an old Ford Crown Victoria would have been. Anyway, I was supposed to drive the transam to Columbus the next day to pick something up and the night before I dreamt that the brakes went out in the car and that I had a horrible car accident and died. I refused to drive the car that morning and told my BF at the time that I wanted to drive the other car. He called me once he got to work that morning and told me that the brakes on the transam had gone out on the way to work and he managed to get it over on the side of the road after using the emergency break. He was a better driver than me in that regard and I'm glad that I had that dream or I may not be here today. I have dreams like that off and on to warn me of things but haven't had one in a long time so I guess that's a good thing :)
Ok, don't think I'm some kind of freak or something now :(
I'm just sharing and you asked........lol
When hubby and I were dating, we house and doggy sat for his mom. Well one night I was laying in bed while he had gone for a drink. I heard him in the hall and said something to him. He did not answer. I saw his shadow coming up the hall so I repeated what I had said louder. There was still no answer even though his shadow grew larger. I finally yelled at him and heard him answer from the kitchen.....on the floor below!!! Got goosebumps??? I nearly died! LOL At other times the alarm would go off and the clock/radio was not plugged in. ;) I swear there was one more odd thing but neither hubby nor I can remember! I just asked and all he could say was "I know we got the heck out of there in a hurry!". LOL
Weird stuff, eh? I'm reading a book about souls at the moment. It talks about souls and how they choose their next lives if at all. I'm just beginning it, but I'll share anything good that it might relay. This Doctor used to take people into their subconscious and evoke the most surprisingly applicable insights. He's retired now & has a HUGE waiting list & probably an obnoxiously high fee for his work :(
The most bizarre things do happen. Those are some fascinating and enlighten experiences. What is the book Morph?
It's called Destiny of Souls by Michael Newton. His first book which I did NOT read is named Journey of Souls. I came across it somewhere and it sounded really interesting.
Thanks morph, will have to check it out on Amazon.
If you read it, lmk what you think, 'kay? Or, if I can plow through this one quickly enough, I can send it to you to read.
No, take your time and enjoy it morph.
I forgot to say that both his father and uncle died in the house within the course of about a year and a half. Whatever it was that 'moved' within the house was friendly. :)
That is eerie badseed.
Morph,
Afte I saw your post I looked up the book, went out and bought it and his first book that very day. I finished his first book in two evenings, I just couldn't put it down!! Fascinating stuff. I'm working on the second book now!!
Deb
Wow ~ maybe I should try the first book? I haven't had a chance to really get into the second book yet. Let me know how you think they compare, okay? Glad you liked the first one :)
Morph,
It seems as though the second book is a more in depth version of the first. I haven't gotten too far into the second, yet. Lots of other things going on, not much time to hole up somewhere with a book the past few days!!
