No newsletter since May 5th

Dave, I haven't received a newsletter since May 5th and on that newsletter the DG logo doesn't show either. I was trying to be patient as I thought maybe you were still working hard at getting everything back up to par. I did notice yesterday that the speed of everything has greatly improved.

Lenjo, I'm not Dave, but I saw your message. I took a look at your profile, and you weren't set up to receive the newsletter. At any rate, I've set it back so you'll begin receiving it.

A tip for those who may experience the same problem, or want to stop the newsletter - I can't imagine why, but some do! (*grin*) Go to your "Preferences" page and see if the box for the newsletter is checked or not. This is one of the features you can manage yourself, although we're happy to assist, if need be.

Also, back issues of the newsletter are available in the "Extras" forum. Bottom line: check out all the links in the right-hand column; they can be mighty helpful in enhancing your DG experience

Terry, I did check my preferences page and it was checked to receive the nightly newsletter. CoCo had alerted me to this. I am so ignorant with the computer, what actually did you have to do to get this going again?

As an administrator, I have access to our profiles, and changed the settings on yours. But I find it puzzling that what displayed on your homepage was different from your settings. At any rate, please let me know if you don't get the newsletter tonight.

I also have not received my newsletter since 5May, and when I look at my preferences I do still have the newsletter box checked. I considered unchecking and rechecking the box, but figgered I'd let you take a look first to see whether my prefs show differently for a sysadm than they do for me [though why that would be is indeed a puzzler.]

Laurie, you're right. And that makes it a "Dave issue". I also didn't touch your settings, just looked at them, both as a user and administrator. Hmmmm....Dave?

Thanks for leaving this for me to look at. There was a little "bug", if you will, in the preferences area. When someone was not subscribed, in some occasions the preferences area would say that they still were.

This has not been fixed. So, lbarrow: go hit the preferences page and you'll see it's not checked off (this is correct). Check the box and submit the page. Then go back and make sure it's still checked off (it should be). Then just back, relax, and wait for the newsletters to come piling in (each night after midnight) :)

O-tay, Ahdunit, and yup, the newsletter box indeed was unchecked when I first looked at my prefs today [whereupon I rechecked it to "Yea-ah!!!"] [well, okay, so it just said "Check here" there on the page, but I said "Yea-ah!!!"] The box still showed a check in it upon my return [having left and gone on and circled over to it again with no "Back"ing up, jic... :]

Now, per Dave's further expert technical recommendation, it's time for backin' and relaxin' until sometime after the magic strike of elevencentral... ;]

P.S.-- Y'all do a great job here, and believe me, I know that even when you're not upgrading and troubleshooting there's still plenty to keep you busy in order to stay up to the standards y'all've set for y'rselves.
