Invasive Plants

Frederick, MD(Zone 6a)

We were talking in the rose forum about multiflora and it's invasive tendancies. Here's a great article with some invasive plants named:

Thank you Dea, that was very informative.

Thanks Dea, I learned a great deal. I'm just getting started into trying to plant only native plants. I always thought yellow flags were indigenous. I have several along a creekside. I've never seen the copper iris. Some of these native species are hard to find. I haven't found a nursery yet that specializes in them.

What are your ten most invasive plants in the herb garden?

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Ohhh.. I have several of those plants in my yard... Barberry, butterfly bush, pampas, miscanthus, vinca, fountain grass etc etc...

I also have Oxe eyed daisy which I believe snuck into the seed pack of a purchased seed I started 2 years ago. It's made it's way around the back of my house - darn birds!

The plants I am 'fighting with' constantly are honeysuckle, and morning glories - I didn't plant them and it's a never ending battle!
