Buttons

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

I have a request. Any of you who happen to have some spare buttons lying around and don't need them...I have a new home for them. :)

A friend of mine uses buttons to embellish hand-made heart shaped pins to give to people. She "gives away her heart" every time someone compliments her on her heart pin. With it, she gives them a sweet note containing a scripture and an inspirational thought.

I looked on ebay to see if I could find some buttons to give to her, but they're just too expensive. I have already given her all of the decent buttons I have. I plan to hit all of the yard sales this weekend to see if I can find any, but I thought I'd check here, too.

Can't hurt to ask, right? :)

Thanks, folks.

Carla, you can take buttons off of old clothes.Lots of time some of the stuff isn't good enough for Goodwill and they have piles of it waiting for disposal.Check there and at thrift shops for unwanted clothing.I've got quite a stash that way. Some really neat ones I got at estate auctions...the clothing went for pennies...and I got some really cool glass and rhinestone buttons.

This comes from a die hard button collector...they come out of the woodwork when you think 'outside the box' so to speak.

Well, Melody, I never thought of that. I need to go to our Thriftshop on base today anyway and I'll just have to ask about that.

Thanks, flowox. I'd appreciate it.

Anything would be great, but since her ministry is called "Ministries of the Heart" anything with hearts would be especially nice. I have also seen some of her pins with vintage buttons. They are all small buttons, though. Nothing bigger than a nickel.

I wish all of my garden buddies here could meet this lady who does this ministry. She is such a dear, sweet person. God is using her in so many ways, too.
