Dave, I know you are in the middle of getting the site up to par and very busy since your move and all. Was just wondering if we could at some time down the road have a new forum for Bonsai their care and maintenance.

I can't believe it haighr! I have never seen that in bonsai.
I have a tea tree I've been working on for 10 years or so. It's in the ground, but has such a wonderful shape, I just prune it every year to a more bonsai look. It's 5' tall, but gorgeous. I just finished pruning again, will have to get the camera so y'all can tell me what I've done wrong over the years:)

Well post that pic, but I can tell ya I won't be posting any wrong doing on your part, I don't know what I am doing LOL!

I bonsai seedlings. Takes forever. I know one thing, you can't do it indoors, unless you have a special climate-controlled room.
BTW, I don't think succulents count.

This is only the second time in 3 weeks that I've had time to sit down at the computer. I didn't feel well for a couple of weeks, just thankgoodness felt good as my daughter came from Virginia for a 10 day visit. I met her in Spokane and we/she drove by stages to Forest Farm in Williams Oregon to pike up the four trees that I had ordered earlier. They were in 5 gal. containers and would have cost more than $100.00 to ship to me. So I decided to use the money for gas and go and get them. We had a wonderful trip. Didn't really plan anything, just went. We lived out of our suitcases for a week, staying in different towns and different motels. While we were at FF they allowed us to go into two of their greenhouses and pick things out. They are really a mail order business, but I guess since we were already there and i have ordered from them for many years, they were kind enough to let us buy. Then of course since we were in that area of Oregon we had to stop at other nurseries too. Had the back of my pickup crammed full of plants by the time we got home!!

Anyway what i started out to say was that I havae been dabbling with Bonsai for more than 40 years which sure doesn't make me an expert, but I do like to try to grow different things as Bonsai. I was so happy this year, my wisteria that i have been bonsaiing ?? for 14 years finally bloomed. It got frozen last year , but lived, but no blooms. It was gorgeous (still has lots of bloom), and i did take pictures but haven't had time to go get the pictures. One nice one is still in my digital, but I still don't know how to send from the camera. As soon as I get my plants in the ground i will try to learn how to send.

I have a Japanese Pagoda tree, that I grew from seed. It is more than 40 years old and still alive. Donna

Oh, Ruth you sound like you really have a talent for this! Now I am excited as my Bougainvillia bonsai came yesterday and it is quite lovely; however, the blooms are a bit tipped in brown. I'll post a pic over at the new forum when able.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

tiG ??? not sure what you are talking about! Oh, yes I am "able". I didn't mean the DG site posting problems, I meant wait until I get home or tomorrow while I have the day off. LOL
