The haircut. . . .

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Well I stepped outside the other day, only for a few minutes. Hubby was in the house working on my camera. Lillie went up the hall to use the bathroom. Well a few seconds later I hear the kids asking her where she got a handful of hair then they yelled all sorts of shocking sounds. Seems Lillie was unhappy with her haircut and decided to change it. Mind you, several months ago her hair was to her rump and I cut it to a bob because she hated having it brushed. It WAS shoulder length. Apparently she whacked of a pony tail right above each ear. I cried, told her I would have to cut it like a boy and it would probably be ugly. Why the heck does it look cute and why does she look so darn happy??? LOL Like the jaw breaker?

Chele she would be a beauty no matter how her hair is. The little stinker just didn't want me chasing her to try to brush her hair. lol

Yep, still definitely a doll! Just like her mom :-)

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Aww.. she's soo cute!

Cleveland, OH(Zone 5b)

What a little stinker!!!! But what a cutey!!!!!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

It's her hair, and I say let her wear it as she chooses! (Do I sound like a grandma?) She is absolutely adorable, and her hair is fine. It will be cool for the summer, no problem with those tangles and trying to keep it out of her face, and it will grow. I like to see a girl who knows she is more than a beautiful mane.

Hempstead, TX(Zone 8b)

i'd say she is a very smart little girl. with this hot weather who wants hot hair. lol

Michele,

This really made me laugh and brought back some very similar memories. Since I used to be a hairdresser also, I did friends hair in my home. My DD was 2 yrs. old and had long beautiful hair with some natural curl that you could wrap around your finger and it would stay. One day as I went to brush it, I noticed that one side was awful thin...when I looked at it more closely, I realized she had taken my scissors and layed them flat against her head, just above her ear and had cut off all her hair underneath. It's a good thing that I could cut hair, and she got a "pixie" hair cut that day. Oh what a change that was!!!!

Lillie looks so cute in her new "do", but I know how shocked you must have been. lol

Chele, I can't believe how much she has grown since last summer! She looks so adorable with her new "do". Has she watched you cut her sister's hair before? I'm wondering if she was trying to be just like you. :o)

Harford County, MD(Zone 6b)

She does look awfully cute with the "new" cut. You may have to hide your scissors from now on,LOL.

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Well we know now it wasn't just the hair that made her so pretty. Let's see is that Miss America 2017? I can't remember the year only the face. I wonder if sisters have ever won in the contest? BACK TO BACK TO BACK TO BACK TO BACK WINNERS.

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

Chele, you can take heart in the knowledge that at least she didn't cut it as short as I cut mine when I was a two year old. I cut mine so short that I cut my scalp.

She is adorable. I WANT ONE!!!!

She is adorable, Badseed. I do think she has a mind of her own the way it sounds. She is how old?
Hey, my hair needs a trim; is she available?

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

ROTFLOL You guys are taking it a lot better than I did, well with the exception of Trish. :) It was a shocker but how can I not love her anyway? This by the way was her second scissor incident! Last time she DID lay a scissor right on her head and cut a nice bald spot. I had finally grown it out past her ear and now this. LOL My eldest did the same thing a few years ago. She went from rear end long hair to a shoulder length bob. Thank goodness I went to school for cosmetology. Lillie is three and will be four in Sept. She was my Labor Day baby. How appropriate.

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Really, Michelle, doesn't every little girl do this at one time or another? I cut mine off at age three, but wasn't coordinated enough to do the left side. It was originally about to the bottom of my shoulder blades, and I cut the right side and the top to about two inches long. Mama got me back, she didn't straighten it! So for a few months I went around with it catawompus. Then an aunt came to visit, and she took up for me and evened it. I hadn't been suffering nearly as much as Mama thought I would, since we lived in the country and there was no one to make fun of me. I really thought it quite unfair that my brother was always getting to sit in the high chair with a feed sack around his shoulders, getting his hair cut, and I never could.

Maben, MS(Zone 7b)

That's my Lillie, isn't she a doll.

Crossville, TN

She is adorable...and would be even if she shaved her head...OPPPS...Let's not give her any ideas!! Jo

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

AWWW! This brought back memories of my daughter and her first haircut! She had hair long enough to tickle the back of her knees and came inside from playing nest door with it all gone! She had less left than your cutie. I laughed and straightened it out before Bob got home. When He saw her he started crying! She hugged him and told him it was ok cause hair doesn't hurt when you cut it!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

LOL Zany. You took it better than I did. Funniest thing is, I looked at it, told her how awful it was and that I would have to cut it like a boy. Now people keep telling her how cute it is and she just looks at me like 'HAH! See, it is still cute and I don't look like a boy!'. What a little turkey! I do have to say, we have conquered the hairbrushing fight every morning. :)

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Zany, that's too cute! She sounds like a delightful daughter, it's no wonder you laughed with her.

Seed, you have to admit she looks cute no matter how she styles her hair.

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Actually I laughed because I had been wanting to cut off her hair for along time but Daddy would have none of it! Fighting over a hairbrush and tangles was not my idea of a fun way to spend time with my little girl. But she was so serious when she told him it didn't hurt that even he had to laugh!

Brooklet, GA(Zone 8a)

i think she is darling.
