Since Chat doesn't seem to be working, we can at least still chat here in the Parking Lot a little.

So, Flowox, you didn't get all that rain Sunday night? We got almost 2". Backyard was standing water only most of Monday.

I thought there was a problem with my computer ant that everyone else was on. Whew! Thank goodness I wasn't the only one.

you know, to be honest with you, I don't remember Sunday much at all. I know I took the kids to the movies and we saw X-men 2 but after I took them home the rest of the day is just a blurr :(

My mom who lives in TN said that her entire yard is flooded so bad that most of her plants are either rotting from too much water or washing away............she's devastated as she loves her flowers

Susan, that is so sad! I thought your mom had a pond? Did her yard flood out too? My swamp is an yearly occurrence -- there is an underground stream that only runs in the winter and spring. It dries up in the summer. Makes growing things in that one part of my backyard a challenge! But yesterday about 1/2 of the backyard was under water. Not really deep, about an inch. It is mostly subsided today, but the ground goes "squish" when it is walked on. Lots of mud coming up between toes ;D

My mom has a pond that she dug herself in the front yard. It's about 6' wide and 8' long and comes to above your knees when you stand in it. She has water coming almost all the way up to the house.......about 6" of water laying in the yard

Lupinelover, I am doing fine and thank you very much for asking. The weather has been horrible! We have escaped the tornados and damaging hail so far. We live at a high elevation and would be probably the last people in the world to flood. If we flood then everyone else in the county will also. Water runs off our property and into the two rivers nearby, thank goodness. We are in an area that has been hit by tornados though. The terrible one that hit Nashville several years ago they still show on tv occasionally. It barely missed us by just a short block. It has followed that exact same path twice (once many years ago) and really wiped things out. For that reason, we never rest too easily when they are warning us of possible tornados. My yard is a mess as all the flowers are either bent and broken or shredded and the blackspot is taking over the roses. If I can ever get out there to work I am going to have to cut lots of stuff back and probably pull off most of the leaves on the roses. No way can I spray for the problem 'cause it would just rain and wash it off. The weeds are taking the place since they are getting plenty of good rain to help them grow. This would be a good time for someone to come visit to see my (once) lovely yard. LOL! Watch it happen!!!!!!!! I will be on here "boo hoo"ing for sure.

I thought it must have hailed! I was at a dinner/concert at a big church up in Flowox's end of town, and toward the end the storm was so loud we could hardly hear the singer! There's more on the way here and I'm powering down the computers and unplugging them. See y'all later! :)

We had a storm pass through,and then it was sunny.nice and cool.
My friend Mike,said he was home when the twister lifted and went over his home,he was in the basement,all the 8'trees he had just got,were under his upper deck,he said they made a few circles,then flew over to his next door neighbors.

We've had 7" since last night and are expecting another 3" tonight. Cross your fingers that the house doesn't slide down the hill to the creek/swamp with us in it tonight!

Wow the gang is all here. We had floods last night the road to my house was closed. My moms basement flooded and all our fences at the farm washed out . We have cattle everywhere so we are having a real time round up. :)

I can just see cows floating by on rafts with beer *moo*

Had a great day at Farmers Market & also at the garden center. Lots of people looking for plants & flowers. Looks like economy is on the up turn. Everyone says my son's plants are the best they have seen anywhere. We are almost sold out of spreading petunia baskets. Love It!!

Sorry to hear you're all sloshing around in the wet. We are dry as a bone her. Our water conservation plan just went to a different level this week. Everyone on city water has only two days they can water instead of every other day. We have a well that til now hasn't been restricted. The powers that be are actually talking about limiting our well use. The actually want to put meters on them.

Wish you could send some of that water this way. Southwest.

WOW - a cow crane, Root?? I cannot imagine. The storms seem to have passed here for a while for us, and I ended up staying online. I have pictures I'm working on, so I wanted to tough it out if possible, LOL. Sounds like most of you guys are hit a lot worse than we are!

I sure hope that little bit of a shower managed to settle the dust in the pasture. Lots of thunder, ugly skies in strange colors all day, but nothing to get excited about as far as rain. It was just enough to keep me in and prevent me from going to the post office to mail people some canna. But I think I can do it tomorrow.

That's cause it was all up here last nite, Aimee!! Glad some of you got to get together, anyway. Tuesdays wouldn't be right without some kind of getting together.

My ISP went bonkers last night, then the lightning came so I got off quick! Sorry I missed everyone! More severe storms possible every day this week.

Koko, I would send you rain if I could!!!!!! Last spring I sent ours elsewhere, but during the summer they never sent it back *grin Had a fairly severe drought, lost a lot of plants. Do you do mostly drought-tolerant planting?
