Storm is heading my way :(

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

I am at home by myself, dh is working and the kids are at school. There are some very strong storms heading towards my town. I have always been deathly afraid of storms and so I just needed to vent here a little.
Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers at least til the storm passes.
I am going to shut the computer down and keep my eyes peeled on the TV and the sky.
Be back soon.
Mollybee

Mollybee, if you're reading this, I pray that it means the storm has passed, that it never developed into more than a bit of wind and rain, and that you and your family and loved ones, and everyone in your area, are safe.

Just checking in here for a quick second. We had some pretty bad storms here and Ga was hit pretty hard. We had nothing but weather reports pretty much all day today. They started around 11:00 a/m and didn't even go to commerical plum on up til around 4:30 pm! Pretty bad storms!! I am pretty sure we are not out of the woods yet, because I can hear thunder off in the distance. Hope it stays off in the distance too!! I was sooo scared here by myself today! I was walking the floor ringing my hands and almost in tears. Then I had to get ahold of myself, because it was then time for my kids to get home from school. I felt much better then. Keep me in your thoughts later tonight too, the storms are not completely over with and more than likely we will get more before morning.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers they are very much needed now.

Thanks goodness you & your family are alright! The main thing is that you are all together!! I pray that the storms will not bring destruction to your area.

Glad to see this update, Mollybee. I certainly will keep all of you in my prayers!

As always, Molly, you and your family are in my prayers.

It might not help much when you are in the grip of fear, but, statistically speaking, few people are killed or injured by storms in an average year. Common sense and being prepared go a long way to keep you and your property safe. Do what you already know to do, then accept the fact that life is filled with potential danger every single minute. Only Divine Providence keeps us from harm, and does it on a regular basis.

A trick one of my friends uses when she is not feeling psychologically up to snuff is to start laughing. Just as if someone had told her a funny joke. She laughs and laughs, until she feels better. It actually works, by a little known fact of our magical glands. Your system is flooded with certain hormones when you laugh, and the more you laugh, the healthier you are. Also, the better your frame of mind becomes.

Anticipating a good report and sending hugs.

Checking in here this a/m. We made it thru anohter night of bad storms and the weather man says we are in fact due to get 2 more days of the same kind of storms that are heading our way from Alabama. So we should be out of the storms by Friday, which seems like forever away!
I guess the hard part is when they hit during the day when everyone here is at school or work, therefore I am by myself.
I had to keep telling myself yesterday that I wasn't alone, and that I had the Lord here with me. That was the only way I could keep myself in control.
Thanks for all your wise words of encouragment.
Keep them prayers coming.

Hey Molly,

You know if you get freaked out and you are home alone, that you can call me or someone else here who's number you have! :)

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

Thanks you 2. I tell ya we really got pounded yesterday and last night. Did ya'll see all that? I am Carroll Co like on the bottom of I-20. We had at least 3 or 4 that were back to back and the Thornado Warning Alarms were going off like every 20 minutes or so. That thing really makes me scared!!!!
I just hope todays storms are not as bad and maybe they will pass on by here.

*Guess I should tell ya that the reason I am soo scared of storms is because when I was a kid my friend and I were out playing and it came up a storm. We ran to her carport and then saw that we had left our little rocking chairs out in the rain. She ran back and grabbed one and then when I ran back to get the other one, lightening struck a hugh oak tree that was about 3' from me!! It sent splinters 1' wide flying thru the air way across the street into the neighbors yard!! I guess coming that close to getting sruck has stuck with me all these years.

Oh, Mollybee, how awful! An experience like that has a way of etching itself into the brain! I'm praying, along with everyone here, that these dreadful storms will let up sooner than the meteorologists are predicting.

Thank you Whiterose. I too hope the storms lift. They say we are in for 1 more day of the same type of storms today :(

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Mollybee, where are you?

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

I'm here. The storms finally got thru here, and we didn't have any damage at all(other than my nerves that is LOL)
We are expecting more storms to come thru here Wed, Thurs, and Friday. So keep me in your thoughts until then.
Thanks for all your support

Hang in there, trust the Lord to keep you safe. I'll be thinking of you and praying for you. Those spiderworts you sent me made it after all the freezing right after they were planted. They're tough little things. Thanks again.

Glad those particular storms passed, Mollybee, and will keep praying for your safety, security and peace of mind. God bless you!
