Why is it....

Why is it so slow? It takes a while getting here and once here it is still slow going from one post to the next and starting a new post. I have tried the refresh tab while holding ctrl and that doesn't seem to help, anyone else having the same problem?

Very slow here too. I am at the office with a DSL connection, but today it's taking longer to load a page than it does using my slow dial up at home.

same here, thought it was my computer..Glad it's not..

Extra-slow for me tonight too. My other sites are going regular speed.

I thought it was my connection but everything else is going fast.

New photos seem to be added quick tho. I abandoned my attempt to search through the Member List earlier. After 5 minutes, still nothing.

Windd, can you change the title of this thread to give Dave a heads up? Or maybe he is still working on the problem...

i noticed the site being slow for a few days now. it takes about 3-4 mins. before the site comes up on my screen. i have tried other sites, no problem at all. hope someone can give explanation.

It's the image processing code that I had to insert to fix the internet explorer bug. It has caused the server to crawl at times. I have on my TODO to try to optimize it a bit, for now we just need to be patient.

Yes, I disabled the image processing. Expect IE crashes to follow shortly. :)

I'll restart it later, but a 60gig swap file in my .gimp-1.2 folder wasn't helping matters.

Dave, my speed is fine. The only problem I have is trying to find my way around.

poorgeorge, just hang in there. This is a lot of information, and a lot of forums, so it takes a while to know where to look. Once you get your feet on the ground, you'll be zipping along with no problem. I think DG is better arranged for easy navigation than any other site I use.

There were some helpful tutorials some time ago. I haven't looked to see if they are still there, but I bet they are. Anyone have a hyperlink for pg?

Zipping along this evening in the text part. The photos are taking a longer time than usual to appear -- even the thumbnails. Not complaining! Just commenting. I saw about the difficulties IE is causing. I can wait until it gets sorted out :)
