*lol* No, its just me and Lene spooking around again *lol*
Well, I just posted to say a warm hello to everyone here on the Brug forum. I don`t really don`t know, how to start or how to beak the ice, so let me just invite you join us to enjoy this tremendous view of the west, where the sun goes down and let us see, where it takes us :)
Just before the dark set in Lene and I use to go and sit here on our large firewood stems enjoying the silence and birds song over a cold beer, while we talk about the day, make plans and maybe dream a bit here and then.
Tonny in Denmark

Tonny and Lene: Glad to see you back. It's going to be a great year for brugs and datura. This will be my first year for brugs. Gorgeous sunset.
Glad you are back tonny & lene. I have missed your insightful posts. You are just in time for spring....and brug season begins. I am taking some brugs with me to Turkey, this week - I will plant them in pots and hope that my husband will take care of them. They should be spectacular by the time I move back there...(I Hope) if not, I will start with seeds next year.
Tonny great to see you back I sure missed your post and pictures.
LOL Tonny! Just last week I was talking to Gwist and commenting that I wished you would come back to entertain us all again! And here you are!!!

Kell, you are such a good one!
Yes I am, LOL........ I haven't felt like singing here for a long while............... but this calls for a song don't you all think?
Hi Tonny!
Welcome back Tonny! You have been missed.
Hey, there, Tonny, nice to see you back here again. Missed your posts.
Great to see you back,Tonny and Lene!Beautiful sunset, but I am sure it turned really cold by you as well,so it's been beers at the fireplace for me these last few nights, too, lol.
Wow Kell, the "Welcome Back Kotter" theme song!! I just loved that show!
I don't believe it!!! You're back!!!! Brilliant!!!...I'm soooo delighted!!! We've got allot of catching up to do!!! This has made my day!
Your friend,
Bruno
Rootdoctor, at your service *lol* I hope that the spring sun will come soon and warm up the ground. Here in zone 7 its already started, but its a bit early to plant the tender plants out, but I have just heard from a friend in zone 8a that had a good snowfall. Spring comes different in every zone, but sometimes the lower zones in a favorable position, can be quicker to warm up, than the higher zones. I`ll cross my fingers that you will have them all in the dirt, before you know of it :)
Thanks, TwinLake, I have misses all of you equally as much and its wonderful just to be here.
Brugnanny, its good to hear from you too :) we lost about 150, most large plants, but have still got about 140 left. We had to cut them down to the potline, because of the frost damages, but after the sleep in February, they started to shoot as I have never seen them shoot before. Its a veritable jungle in there and this afternoon we moved the coffeatable and the two small chairs out to get more growing space. Both Larry and Eric`s seedlings made it and we have all 99 that we selected from Erics seeds last year. I wonder why, if there is a higher meaning by that? These are all versicolors and everyone seem to assume that they are very tender plants that resents cold *lol* Maybe they do? ... but Erics did fine through the 6.^*C December frost, where so many failed. I am not a very relligious person, but in this case I caught myself thinking that there may be an angel watching over them.
Thanks JT :) I enjoyed very much the pictures that you took of Ember at Christmass. Its a wonderful Brug.
Alice, I missed you as well. No more leaving. Youh ave got my handshake on that. Yes, the sky can be enchanting, can`t it? That must be wonderful sitting out on that porch watching the sun go down.
Good to be in your company as well, Liz. Sunrises can be equal in beauty to sunsets *lol* What makes me favor the sunset is the moment after, just before the twilight set in. Thats when all the birds suddenly stops to sing and air become as quiet as a silver-blank lake.
Thanks, Hibiscus :)
Mary, hello to you :) Yes, it can and even the best piece of music can`t compete with it.
Debbie, have you been bitten by the Brug fever as well? *lol* The first year is always something special, so full of hopes and dreams and its like every possibillity lies open. I wish you an unforgettable first year :D
Pebble, I hope that your DH will take good care of your Brugs. I have the feeling that he will. Are you moving to Turkey as well? If its possible I like to send you and your DH a packet later on.
Mystic, I hope I can live up to that :) I will do my best and will enjoy your posts and pictures as well. I allready did. I remember the white flower that you posted, where Kell later posted her pasta cutter, because it reminded her so much of it *lol*lol*
Kisses to you Kell. Yes, we are a one big happy family. Its unbelievable good to be here again. Hugs! You know, you left me with a tear in my eye by that song :` Its wonderful to hear you sing again :)
Hi Dennis, how are your sanguinea and vulcanicolas coming? Did you decide what Daturas to plant for your project? The stramonium group can take a lot of wind and cool temperatures as well, but the wrightiis can take a bit of that as well.
WaterlooLilly, Thanks. It sure warms the heart to know :)
Anna, congratulations on being Granmom for the very first time. It must be wonderful. Have you thought about names for the little man? :)
Gwist, my friend. There you are. I just asked Kell, where to find you :D Yes, it turned cold again and down in the - 3-4 *C at night, so its beers infront of the stove here as well or in the winter garden. Did you get the seeds in the dirt? I hope you can find a bit room for them. I know, that you grow many already now :) I will have more to send you later Hugs :)
You better start to believe it *lol* That made my day as well to find that you are still here *lol* Yes, lets look at the catching up, my friend. I can`t wauit to start :)
Hi Tonny..good to see you back!!!!
Thank you Ms Kelley...Roz and Billy were here today..they are such dear people. I was able to sneak out to the GH for a minute till "Jailer Ron" caught me.
Hi, Tonny, Welcome! To you and to Lene.
Hi Glory! Get back in that house, girl, and no digging!
Tony, I guess I didnt realise how much I missed your chatty posts until I read your follow up here....
You are always very positive...
Tonny, I would love a packet, when I get settled In, I will be actually moving in july, this trip is just a little vacation, my dh's pharmacy will open while we are there, (DH planned it so our whole family could be there to enjoy the grand opening celebration and bring good luck perhaps..)
Sorry to hear you lost so many brugs to winter cold, but glad that you still have plenty to keep you occupied...
Welcome back Tonny & Lene!!
You don't know me-but,I feel as I know you-reading the posts here on brugs. & friends.
I hope I can be added to your long list of friends here.I'm also, new to the brug. world & hope to get some of these beautiful plants to grow for myself.
Glad to see you here again.
Colie
Hello Colie, nice to meet you *lol* No, its me that ask if I can be on your friends list *lol* That would be wonderful. Did you find out the name of your Brug with the wonderful perfume?
Good to see you again too Glory. How is your neck doing. I msut admit that I was amazed that you were posting the same day as you came home after the surgery. You must have a will stronger than ten horses *lol* I enjoy all your posts and pictures. Keep them coming girl :)
Thank you Roz from both of us. We enjoyed much your picture from the garden with that enormous row of Brugs lining up to your lawn. There must be many *lol* What is the yellow one closest?
Pebble, just send me your addy, when its time to mail out *lol* Are you and your DH really opening a pharmacy? Wow! That takes real much preparation. Is he over now himselfto set up the shop and inventories? *lol* Never mind the lost Brugs *lol* I don`t cry over spilled milk. We have a few real good friends that will help us replace many of them :)
Well just look, my first day back after a short absense with pneumonia here. I was afraid we had all picked up that SARS virus. It turned out we all had a viral pneumonia that knocked us flat on our backs.
What a pleasant surprise to see you've come back. It just wasn't the same without you, check your "Order Page" for Surrow seeds, long email for you there. I got the sanguinea seeds and found some arborea for you as well. Hit me up with your addy so I can get them out before we get buried in more snow. People are still digging out cars an we got another 6 inches today and it hasn't stop snowing yet.
Hugs to you and Lene!
Tonny, yes, DH is over there now setting up the pharmacy, he has been there off and on since November. I hear every day a progress report. the shelves and cabinets have been ordered, the drugs have been ordered, the tile is being laid, the shelves and cabinets arrived, the computers have been ordered, the phone lines installed, the drugs arrived, all entered into computer inventory system, spent all day stocking etc etc etc....He is very excited.
thank you for your kind and generous offer, I will let you know when I am there settled. In the meantime, I have packed 4 brugs. I am anxious to see if they make it or smother inside all the clothes....
Thanks for asking about the sanguinea Tonny. They are getting very large now. Some are very strong growers, others are slow. I actually planted one of the larger ones out about a week ago. Thought I would test how cold hardy it was. Wouldn't you know, we got snow yesterday. I did cover it with a big clear plastic bucket. When it warms up I'll see if it survived the snow and cold temps.
I'm sorry to hear about your loss of brugs! Glad to hear the others are coming back strong. Hopefully spring will be here to stay real soon. Take care, Kristi
No,Tonny-I never found out.
My one & only brug. died:(
Thank you for remembering & asking.
Tonny! So good to see you here again!!!
and I miss your pictures and posts
Joyce, so good to hear that it not was the SARS. Here in Denmark we just had a school class coming home from Hong Kong and they was not allowed to return to school, before the authorities are sure they are free of SARS. Personally I feel that there should be made statistics about which age groups etc. are worst influenced. As I can read of the current statistics a whole lot of many have had SARS, but only a comparative low percent was hit irreversible.
I mailed out a packet to you and it should arrive close to the weekend if not before.
Yes, I had to come back. There is nothing that beats the community that Dave and his friends has build and I know for one that I will understand to cheerish it and I know that so do we all :)
That sounds bad with all that snow. We had a bit here tho, but it melted as soon as it hit ground and the streets started to look like during rain. I hope the snowfalls soon will be over in your part of the Country *lol* There is an old saying to explain the many different days with sun and snow in April. It goes that one day God gave all months in the year names. However, when he got to the last month, which was April he was run out of days and April cried. Now, the other months in the year thought that Aprils crying sounded so sad, that they decided that everyone of them would give some of their days to April. Yes, ... and that is why *lol* some days of April are like summer and other days have snow.
Hugs from both of us and keep up the good spirit :)
Wow! Pebble, what an energy. Here`s all my wishes of success. I admire what you both do and all that energy you put into it. Once a very rich american was asked, what was his advice to anyone that wanted to follow the same path as he. He answered: "Never to let yourself employ under anyone else, but to make a business of your own. Then he was asked why (and I am not joking *lol*) and he answered"As long as you are employed under somebody else there will always be a fixed limit of how much you can earn, but if you are self-employed its all up to your skill and the energy that you put into it and only the sky is the limit".
Kristi, I simply love that you are experimenting with your sanguineas to see, how much cold they will cope with. Experimenting is like asking the nature questions and the nature will tell you exactly how and why things are :) I think that I am as excited as you to find out, what the results will be, when you move the pot from the sanguinea. I had some where the entire stems + top leaves was intact after several days by - 6 *C and that could indicate that - 7 not would have killed them. - 7 - -8 would have caused the stems to die back to the roots, but they would still be able to shoot again. Will you let me know your results?
Never mind those that froze. I will of course take my preventions that they will never have to freeze again, but it was a learning experience as well. I learned more about Brugs capabillities to survive that any book could have told me *lol* Its quite the same as the way that you are asking the sanguinea now :)
Colie, I am sorry to hear that you actually lost it. Did you find a replacement for it then?
CC, wonderful to meet you here as well. Say, the plant that you posted on the ID forum, that from Chilterns Seeds, is that really a Tecoma Stans? Lene has soved two pots of those and I think that she will be overly happy to find out its a kind of climber. Its the yellow one. She think it will stand out good to the morningglories she plan to grow in the wintergarden this year. Have you seen the leaves of the Cypress Vines? *lol* It looks like a kind of spicy herb with those leaves, don`t you think? :)
Great to see you back Tonny. You've certainly been missed. I can't wait to see all your wonderful brug photos this summer!
