25 images to go....

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

...to get to 14,000 images in the PDB. That is simply incredible! Considering we've been averaging around 35 new images a day, we should easily reach this milestone tomorrow.

It's hard to believe that two short years ago, we had around a hundred plants and a few dozen images - just look at us now!!! And it couldn't have happened without the contributions from so many DG members!

Thanks to all of you who have been busily adding photos of spring-blooming trees, shrubs, bulbs (and yes, even weeds!)

Please keep up the good work as your seedlings mature, and try to snap a few shots to add - especially for those plants that are unique (let's face it, potato leaf tomato plants are all going to look pretty much the same until their fruit ripens, lolol.)

But weeds, new growth on perennials (remember the first time you came face to face with emerging peony stalks? If you didn't know better, you might have thought you were looking at burgundy-colored asparagus shoots!) Having those images tied to an entry in the PDB can and will help other gardeners who are trying to decide if a plant is friend or foe ;~)

2 images need to be deleted so despite the current reading being 14001, there is just one photo needed to make 14000

Done:)

The database currently contains 54,965 plants and 14,006 photos.

That's just amazing! And every piece of the information in the PDB is "real". Many of those "databases" out there are simply links to other people's information. The PDB is the real thing, real content, real pictures, by real gardeners.

Very nice, people!

Well done to Jeffinorchids who got the 14k (by my reckoning, could be wrong). Arsenic you've started a new era!

Congratulations to everyone!

I must say that I really enjoy this feature, and like you said Terry, IDing that emerging plant can be difficult. It is a bit daunting for someone like me to get all the info together tho, is there someone to ask for help?

I sure wish we could get more of the youngster pics, still don't know where my Tuberose are!

Thanks for this wonderful site, I enjoy it more, every day.
