I just now turned on my heat for yall, and am building a pipeline from Texas to ya'll.

Weird thing is, yesterday was a beautiful clear warm, not hot day...and yet about 40 miles aw ay, in North Richland Hills,TX, they had a horrible hailstorm, the kind that leaves your car looking like it has cellulite probs.

Hope things get better soon!

Love ya'll, Lav

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

We are getting a snow storm today-LOL- !!!!!

Penfield, NY(Zone 6a)

We also are getting a snowfall. It happens every April at least one good snow. I'm just hoping this is it!
Flowerpot, how cool that trip sounds. We have crossed Lake O and spent time in the Toronto Islands, Coburg, and Kingston and the whole 1000 Island area. We loved the Toronto Islands. Park the boat and jump on a ferry into the city. The subway line is right there.
Did you know that the Hudson River starts in the Adirondacks on Mt. Marcy, the highest peak? There is a book called RiverHorse by a guy who started out in the East River and went across the country. Mind you it was a small boat and he had to get trailered between some spots but he used the Canal system and the Great Lakes and probably went through the same places you did. It's Seneca Lake, Watkins Glen is at the So end. Keeping a journal is a great idea. I'm just not organized enough to remember to be prepared.

Trillum_Girl your name is our Provincial Flower. Yes I new about the height because of each lock we went through, they tell you, how high above sea level you are and the last ones are a flight of five before you get to the Federal Lock. Isn't that typical I'm a Canadian and I've never been to Toronto Islands or the Thousand Islands, seen lots of pictures. Now I will have to make a point of going LOL. I'll have to do some research on that book sounds like a fun read for us as we've done the trip, thanks for the info.I kept the journal because I wanted to remember that trip, and my memory for names and places isn't that good, could tell you what I saw there but be darned if I could remember the name ha ha.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

You'd love the Thousand Islands,we go there when ever we can!

"Mozzies"? What's a mozzie?

Penfield, NY(Zone 6a)

I lived in Australia for a couple of years and a mozzie is a mosquito. I just always call them that and forgot where I was. Must be cabin fever or something.

St. Thomas, ON(Zone 5b)

Crestedchick I just said to my DH that's it we're going to the thousand Islands, ha ha he said okay, now I'll get to see what you're talking about. We got lots of snow yeasterday but it is slowly melting, and once again the poor little crocuses pop their pretty little heads out.
Trillium_girl I have a friend who's sister moved to Australia about 25 yrs ago and you'd never know she was once a Canadian ha ha I can't understand what she's talking about sometimes. (she still lives there)
