Dave, would you mind?

I wasn't sure where to post this so that you would see it, but I have a request, not really to do with this forum, tho.

In the past few years I have been tinkering with some of my Pulmonarias, and this year I am going to deliberately hybridize a few of them, rather than allowing the bees to do it.

In my musings about what to call this series, I started wondering, would Dave mind if I called it the "Dave Series"?

My plan is this: After I make my crosses and the seed ripens, I would love to send the seed to a few people who have the time and space to grow them out, and maybe keep the line going to other DG people. I would love to do it all myself, but my own private time commitments probably would interfere.

So, Dave, how about it? Can I call my new line of Pulmonaria hybrids after you? And share them with other friends I have made through your Garden?

Or any other suggestions? No, I really don't think 'Lupine Line' would work for pulmonarias ;D

Sure, it's an honor!! I'll need pictures (and, of course, samples of the finished product. ;-)

!!!!!!!!

Yippeee!!!!!

Anyone want to volunteer to grow some of the seeds when they are ready? Maybe 2-3 members who have the room?

Remember, I am talking about a good number of plants: I have never counted the number of seeds in a pulmonaria seed pod, but I will be doing 8 different crosses, and some of the plants have a few hundred flowers.

These are for Dave's people, if I have my way. And everyone has to agree to call it 'Dave's Series' Pulmonaria.

For those who want to see a photo of one of the parents, check out the PDB; Pulmonaria 'Raspberry Sundae'. It is an almost unknown variety, I have only seen it in one source book, and that was a few years ago. A local nursery must have had a buyer who got on a pulmonaria kick; there were a lot of completely unknown varieties that year. I treated myself to this one and to 'Smoky Joe'. That will be another parent. No photos of him, yet.

Calla, CountryGarden, or anyone else with a good greenhouse that can devote time/space to this? Terry? Trish?

Hi,
I would love to be part of this. I think this would be so much fun to be in at the start of a new line.
Let me know,
