The Best April Fools Joke...

The best April Fools joke was on tv's Hollywood Squars H2 today when Henry Winkler decided to pull a joke on the stars and Tom Bergeron(the host).
Henry hired two actors to play contestants, a lady and a man and believe me they were the contestants from h---.
Now remember the stars nor Tom knew anything about it.
When Tom ask the question for the man and the star answered the man would say that sounds stupid, how could you be so dumb. Poor Tom and the star couldn't believe what they were hearing but continue to do the show. The lady had two 0 and would win the game is she could get this one so she said that she was going to whip his blanking but (in stronger terms). My lord by that time Tom was trying to joke it off by saying that some of us had too much medication but it didn't stop the man from replying
asking her if she thought she was blanking Rambo.
Tom's eye's widen so much I thought they were going to pop out of his head. He finally told the man to calm down, then the lady started to cry uncontrollably. Durning the break Tom walk out on the stage in shock when one of the audience members accused him of hurting the ladies feelings. Tom replied that I didn't do anything. In the mean time everyone is trying to get the lady to stop crying, you would have thought the man wouldn't say anything else....NAW!!!
He had to keep throwing his insults out at her and Tom say that it was just a game show and they should get a grip plus a few other choice words.
Finally after the break Tom came back still in shock trying smile and carry on when Henry said April Fool.
You can't imagine the looks the eyes and the mouths that fell wide open. The audience didn't know it either so it was just as much a shock to them as it was to the host and stars.
Tom said that in the 30 years of broadcasting he has never had anything like this ever happen to him and it was a good one. The stars thought they were in the Twilight Zone, at the end of the show Tom closed by say I see you tomorrow if I come back, I need a stiff drink.
I haven't laughed this hard or long in a very long time.

please over look the mistake, I had to type this twice because I am still having problems with ISP which they promised will be fixed by next Tues. It is hard to get online and if I do I can't stay on for too long, it seems they are loosing their signal....hope this gets through.

GW I know what you mean, CoCo got me this morning and I had totally forgoten what day it was as well....she got me good.

I am having a time trying to type because my finger that I almost cut off the side tip, and believe me I found a way to wrap it so that I can use the bandage to type without pain. Here is what it looks like now and if you'll notice it was cut through the finger nail. I know it's not a very good picture but it's kind of hard to take a picture of one's own finger even with a tripod lol.

And you forgot to mention that right before Henry finally told them April Fool! .... Tom had just told the male contestant to "shut up!' I think that is why he was told at that time because he was LOSING it.

GW I don't think it would help when I bump my finger which I seem to always be doing, at least the bandage helps so I don't feel a thing, that's how thick it is.

When it happened I lifted it by the finger nail to see if anything was inside once I stopped the bleeding and lordy I saw my bone and the tip just flapped to the side. You should have seen me pushing it back and cleaning it with peroxide and a cotton ball, I wrapped that sucker at top speed. I was afraid to go to the hospital because I am terrified of needles.

There was a good one here, too, but it pales in comparison to Hollywood Squares. A local radio station that I listen to while driving to town was having trouble with their electronics. Their warning lights kept blinking on. They couldn't figure it out. When they played a record, you could still hear them talking in the background. They couldn't turn their mics off. They were complaining that they didn't have headsets and how cheap their boss was and all the problems working there. Two of them had spouses madly trying to call them to tell them to shut up! The husband of one was nearly in tears. Anyway the 3 of them kept talking about their bosses and other employees in loathsome terms. Of course, it was an April's Fools joke on the listening audience. But they were really believable at the time.

Oooooh, as a former DJ and former wife of same, I know how it must have felt. On both sides of the mike. In real life, I experienced such a thing more than once. And the most embarrassing time was when I was the DJ. I was singing along with Connie Francis, really letting go on "Paper Roses", with no clue to why the engineer was laughing so hard. I knew it wasn't professional quality but geez, it couldn't be THAT bad! Then he began signalling for me to take phone calls. Color me red and purple and chartreuse. For about fifteen minutes, listeners called to comment on the "phantom singer". My voice is easy to recognize, so I knew it was useless to try to deny my folly. As for FDH, he almost had to pay a fine when he left the mike on and the whole town heard his choice descriptions of certain local dignitaries. I wish I had been clever enough to fake it for April Fool.

I know it wasn't funny then but it sure is now *giggle*

Windy, are you laughing at me?! Might as well, I laugh at it myself. But I could have choked that engineer, who had rigged the switch after noticing that I often had a private concert going on behind the control board. It wouldn't have been wise to turn him loose with an excuse such as April Fool. Shudder!
