Legumes Forum

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

Please make the Legumes Forum reappear. It seemed to vanish in the midst of our Heirloom Legumes Round Robin.

Plus, with Summer not too far away, we'll be posting there repeatedly.

Thanks for considering the suggestion.

Shirley

It's still there

Sorry, it must have been my sleep laden eyes playing tricks on me, in the wee hours of the morning....please forgive me! All is well :~)

I guess there may be another forum that discusses legumes, maybe permaculture? This site has been abandoned for years.
Legumes are used in "developing" countries for soil building, another forum I can't find. They are nature's way of capturing nitrogen and adding humus to poor soil. Direct drilling of inoculated legumes into permanent groundcover is part of a method of creating, not just inproving, but actually creating topsoil on degraded land.
Green manure, Keyline practices, carbon sequestering, crop pasturing--anyone doing this or interested in these ideas?

The legumes forum was archived a few years ago due to non-interest. It can always be resurrected if/when there is enough interest to warrant bringing it back online.

We have a soil/composting forum here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/soil/all/ for those interested in discussing soil-related topics ;o)

Thanks, Terry. I moved my comments to the sustainable forum.
