Boy names...

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Do the kid a favor and name him something that he doesn't have to spell for everyone. It just makes life easier. Some names are so uncommon few people know how to spell them, and if they see them written they don't know how to say them.

New York City, NY(Zone 6b)

There's an expression in French...,

Je suis mon nom et mon nom c'est moi.

I am my name and my name is me.

Adam.

I know it may sound trite but naming after a rich, old relative may benefit the boy. Trusts, college funds, etc. Of course unless the name is Jubal Hiram Snakehead. Then Joe is OK. I don't mean to trivialize this. It's important.Don't give a name the other kids can make fun of in school. on the other hand, such a name can build character and resolve. What do I know. I only have named my dogs. (But they're pretty normal) Frank

My father was named for a rich, old relative (fortunately middle name only!). Unfortunately, I was given the same names... When said relative passed on, and the Will read, my father was richer by the sum of $25.

How about Sue? http://www.toptown.com/hp/66/sue.htm ;)

By the way, I never realized Shel Silverstein wrote the song until just now.

Jesteburg-Wiedenhof, Germany(Zone 8a)

I don't know why my Mum named me Barry James, cos after that she only called me Hey You!!!
