Real happy for you, hope they finish it fast and correctly. Then maybe you can get into plants growing all around it. Good luck. There will be some headaches before it is finished, know 'cause we went through it.

That's good news to wake up to, Tricia! I look forward to seeing your pictures.

I know how you feel. I got my new greenhouse last year in the late summer . It's a dream come true. I wish you good luck in building it . Linda

Great news, Tricia. Planning and building a house is a big project, but well worth the effort. You must remember to take it easy and let the men do all heavy work, because you are building a little one and need your rest. And when there are snags, as there will surely be many times before it's over, remember that it's normal and will all work out in the end. If some little things have to be different from your ideal plans, it won't matter when you finally move in and know you have your home built. A home to raise your children in, a place of your own, built for you and now a reality on the landscape. What a nice dream come true. Be sure to let us know as soon as you are ready to plant.

BTW, I have a small mulberry seedling that came up in a large pot I brought into my kitchen for the winter. I always think of it as yours, so let me know if you want it. I think a little bird planted it for you last year.

When it comes time for electrical wiring...put in twice as many outlets as you think you might need. They don't cost much and it was one of the best tips I got when we built our house 10 years ago.

Another tip...buy your celing fans and lights if they go on sale right now.I bought 2 celing fans with light kits for 25.00...for BOTH!They run day and night in our living room and the only time they are turned off is when I dust them.A really good bargain for ten years.

Take it easy and don't get yourself stress too much not good for the baby, I know it is hard but try not do.
I am glad to hear the house start ti build and hope it finish by the time the baby born.

Melody.. Yes.. WE will have ceiling fan in each room not in the dining room.. I will need to buy 5 fans.. That what I have been looking for bargin and sales.. I agree! We will have many outlets around the house even two in living rooom floors. That s where the lamp and the table will be.. We dont have to walk and trip over it.. WE go shopping with left over money after pay all bills.. That s what we do.. shopping for bargin!!!!!!

Our house living sq feet was 1,902 but we just added more feets in the breakfast areas and in our bedroom.. It should be around 2,000. The total was 2,746 but after added more feets.. We will find out extactly.. It is only one floor, fireplace, dining room, washing room, kitchen with breakfast area, three bedrooms, two bathroom, garage for two vechile, back and front porch. OUr back porch is 18'x 12". We are trying not to increase more due $$$ We just want the right size house for three of us plus a baby on the way!
We just bought a fireplace which it was on sale! OH boy, the pipes for fireplace is so expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well keep you posted... Gotta go and do the sewing...

Tricia, try to hold the image of your beautiful, finished house -- built exactly the way you want it to be, surrounded by lovely plants and trees -- in your mind throughout the whole process. One day your place will be finished and it will be worth every bitten fingernail and torn hair, LOL.

Trica, I'm so happy for you & your family. I agree about the electrical outlets but will add that you need one entire breaker or line in from the pole to the house JUST FOR THE KITCHEN. In this 52 year old house we had 6 circuits for 8 rooms. It is such a mess and we were blowing fuses constantly. We are slowly changing over to breakers and many more curcuits than we did have. It think we'll have about 40 when finished. For instance, each freezer, the 'fridge, & the microwave which are all heavy users of current will have it's own breaker. Each room which needs a heater in the winter will have a circuit just for that heater.
Overkill is always better than just enough.
Best wishes & GOD bless you and your family. Don't let yourself get too tired. You have 3 people depending on you to keep things together besides yourself. Let JESUS lead the way and it will go much more smoothily.
