Frogs are singing!

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

It's only about 3 weeks later than usual, but our little Spring Peepers woke up yesterday! It was such a welcome sound to hear their song.

It means that winter is finally over! We may have some more bad weather...usually do...but things have turned the corner for
us.The bluebirds are working in their nest boxes and the blackbirds are hunting string and dead grass.

hopefully those of you who are still frozen in will get the thaw soon!

This is from last year...but hopefully it won't be long till we get the real thing!

Mel, I'm with ya - we heard "the chorus" a couple weeks ago, and it was such a welcome sound! I puttered around in my GH yesterday, potting up the 'maters and other stuff, all the while, listening to them croaking away.

I appreciate spring more than usual after a winter like this one, don't you?

Mel, how wonderful! =] splat! lol
I know that it wont belong here-what may! ;]
All jokin aside-I know spring isnt far off for us either-we have a foggy day today-thats alot different than -10 last week!
Im sure the Robins will be showing up anytime and I cant wait for the bluebirds and orioles.
Enjoy your springs, its my favorite time!

We got frogs last week. This weeks it's mosquitos already and I saw a sweat bee. This is our first year in our first house and I'm enjoying all the different wildlife we have out back. I had an indigo bunting at my apartment last year(a real treat!). This time it's ducks and geese in the back creek/river and plenty of bluebirds and red headed woodpeckers. Oh, and did I mention the field mice in my walls?!?!?! :)

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

echobioangie, glad you are enjoying your house and yard but I sure don't envy you mice in your walls. Haven't heard any frogs here yet. The ground is still frozen from the really cold we've had last few days and there is still ice on the ponds. rutholive, (Donna)
