It is being pretty elusive and so I thought for others like me, experiencing the worst and longest winter, this might cheer us up as we wait patiently, or not, in great anticipation.

Spring where art thou?
Oh Margaret, what a beautiful story and pictures. Wow...I've picked two daffodils so far and there are more blooming. It was 71 degrees yesterday so I'm convinced that spring is here. You don't live that much further north than me so your's shall be there soon! Thanks again for the story.
Louisa, I loved your Daffodil story and pictures. Would like to send to my daughter but don't know if that is possible from a hyperlink. thanks, rutholive, (Donna)
Donna I will mail you!! :-)
vic, sorry I meant to respond to your post, mailed Donna and forgot!! Well of course I am envious of your gorgeous weather. Is it still holding up? I ask because we had a really nice day on Wednesday and then came the rains and falling temps again but the daffs are coming through now and I'm eager to see the new ones I planted last year come up for the first time. As for the story in the link, I loved it too and thereby lies a lesson for all of us. Well, not all of us, if anyone else has moved home as much as I have. :-) Wouldn't it be lovely to have lived in the same house for all of one's life. Boy, imagine how the garden would have evolved!
Louisa, Thanks. I did send on the story of daffodils to my daughter. Don't know if it got there. i have been having a real problem sending emails to them. They both work and are gone all day. Daughter, Cheryl, lives not too far from you I guess in Fairfax, VA, so the time difference is the same. She loves flowers just like me. She is coming out May 1 to stay 10 days and we are going to Forest Farm in Oregon to bring back four trees in 5 gal. pots I ordered from them. To have them shipped would cost almost $100.00 and even with the cost of gas it won't be too bad. And besides that we love to travel together and will stop at other nurseries. The Wilamette Valley has many nurseries. Donna
For a minute I thought you lived in Washington DC but realize it's Washington State. Your daughter can only be about 90 minutes from me, possibly less because it takes us around 90 munutes or so to drive to Dulles airport. I'm sure you will have a great time when she visits and I envy you. I always feel so much younger and rejuvenated when I get to see my daughter in Germany.
Bonnie I thought you might like the link and knew you would read it all the way to the end!! :-) I thought it was a great story because I'm sure it was a true one.
thank you louisa. that story brought tears to my eyes. god bless you
debi
