If you ever think you will need, or want, to contact me through DG, you need to send me an email through DG now. Doesn't have to say anything, just "test" or something like that. This is the only way to make sure that your future emails will come through to my inbox.

I've not been receiving my emails from DG, and I FINALLY figured out why. My ISP put a strong email junk filter on and all my emails from here are being thrown into a junk mail folder. Then I need to go into that website where the junkmail folder is and retrieve the ones I want to make deliverable in the future, by adding them to my approved list. Seems like a ton of work, but I don't want to miss any emails from my friends at DG.

Thank you so much for doing this, and to everyone who has been trying to help me fix this problem.

Joan

I'm bumping this back up so everyone can see it before it gets too far down the threadline. Thanks for your understanding.

Joan, I am so glad you finally found the problem! Seems like you should be able to mark the junk mail filter that anything (from nobody@localhost)by agave.standardout.com should be automatically sent to your in box. It might be worth a try!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I have an email in to Dave about that now. I was checking around on the site where I have to go to choose to accept emails from people and wondering if I could do that with DG. I did find a place to accept all emails from a domain. Such as all emails from DG, but the emails send via DG don't have all the same domain. They come from our own email addresses as far as I can tell.

Joan, my ISP just did the same thing a few months ago and I found out they have "light security", "medium security" and "heavy security" settings ~ medium seems to be the one that lets more messages through, but stops the bulk of the spam. Does yours do that?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Not sure Wingnut, but I'll check into it. Thanks

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

It should show that it was sent via one of Dave's domains, though...I just sent myself a test e-mail to see what the complete headers show.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Wow, that went fast! Here's the headers (minus my e-mail address). Looks like standardout.com is the server which should show up in any mail sent via DG's site.

I have no idea what to put in as the domain name with that Kimberley. Any ideas? It's worth a try though, because it's already bouncing my email into the filtered file already. LOL!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Try scif.standardout.com or standardout.com, Joan.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

I tried one Kimberley and I took you off my approved list momentarily. Try sending me another email and we'll see what happens to it.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

You've got mail.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

It came through! So, does that mean that this fixed the problem?

If anyone is online that hasn't sent me an email, please do so. I need to know if someone who hasn't been on my approved list will get through by emailing me through DG.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I just did it!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Thanks Aimee, I'm gonna go check it out to see if it comes through or not.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Nope, went to the file filter folder! :( You are now on my approved list though Aimee!!! :)

Kimberley, after I took you off my approved list, your email shouldn't have come through, so now I don't know what to think. I'm going to put you back on though. I'm not taking any chances with this goofy ISP. I'm gonna start checking out my alternative internet connection options. LOL

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

My ISP uses spam filters, and at one time I did have a problem. I called them and they changed the level or had me do it. I don't recall the details, but it really slammed my mail hard. Since the change, I don't think it has been a problem. They also have a virus scan, and there was a period when I was receiving at least half a dozen virus-infected messages a day. They earned what I pay just by doing that so well. It makes so much sense for the ISP to do this work but it needs to be done right. I hope you get it fixed soon, we will need communication to fill your gardens when you know what you have left.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Maybe that's the problem Aimee. I suspect that they did an upgrade or something that's causing me the problems I'm having. I'm putting in another call to them tomorrow, and I'm also exploring my options of changing. If they can fix it, that's great, but if they can't I'm not going to put up with this forever.

Ah, fill my gardens after I figure out what I have left. Music to my ears. Gardens, plants, dirt, sunshine and warmth!!!! I can't wait! I've been trying to figure out some landscaping plans to go around the new house. That's kinda fun!

Hugs,
Joan

Joan, sometimes my ISPs spam filter will stop someone who's on my list ~ might have been the reason Aimee's didn't go through? I just sent you another from here to see if it makes it.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Sent you one just now........we'll see if it loves me.

"eyes"

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Wingnut's email went to the filter, but I've retrieved it and put her on my approved list.

Eyes' email came right through, and I already had her on my approved list.

So, it appears that the ones that are on the approved list make it to my inbox, while the ones that aren't get throwed into the filter and my ISP doesn't deliver them.

Anyone who hasn't already emailed me, please do. That's the only way I can be assured of getting your emails. Right now I'm checking the filter everyday and retrieving the ones I want to be able to come through.

I'm still checking to see if there's another local ISP available to me.

Thanks,
Joan

Joan, what a lot of work for you to have to go through! I am sending you an e-mail.
