35,000 at 6PM EST

St. Louis, MO(Zone 6b)

Our family is growing by leaps and bounds. We hit 35,000 at around 6 PM EST today. It's a real consolation to see the large number of folks who are enjoying spreading beauty throughout the world instead of darkness. Will I date myself if I cry 'Flower Power' Spreading a love for life and beauty - and enjoying getting dirt under my fingernails ;-) how relaxing and peaceful.

LOl - Yes Padre, but many of us will remember that line out of the 60's!!

Make love, not war!

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

I can remember how excited we got when there were 1000 of us on DG. This whole thing has accelerated like a big snowball. Dave had a great idea for this, and it just keeps getting better all the time.

Milo, IA(Zone 5a)

Padre: Another 60's child here. We're not getting old, just getting better.

MaryE, I was thinking about that today, and I had to post something as it neared 35k. It actually beat the dinnertime mark here, and was right before or right after it in other areas. I'm CDT. I asked what it was a year ago, because I thought it was near this time that we started talking about 1000, or am I off by a year?

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Aimee, I think you might be off by a year - I joined in Jan 2001. As I vagely recall I was number 500 something!!! When we went to the member list, it used to show your number, that is gone now. And I think last summer at the R-up we were headed for 10,000. Things have really snow balled since then.

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I must be late to this party because what "family" you are talking about. I demonstrated against war once, and for civil rights, I plan to do it again....

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

Far out, man!

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)
