HELLO EVERYONE!
With so many new faces around here-I cant keep track of everyone. Now I love making friends and talking gardening, and I was thinking we could make a list of our garden names and our real names. To try and keep things straight.
Only if you want to be on the list.
***Remember the parking lot forum is a closed to the "public" forum!
its just an idea-what do you think?
Notmartha-Dori
"A NAME LIST IDEA"
Dori, are you on the list that Gardenwife keeps for us?
What list does GW keep?
Adam.
joan when i had the puter fixed i lost all my list!
i dont need everyones addys just wanted a list of names/realnames
for my own personal use. :)
I've been trying to gey all the names I can. All people would have to do is sign their posts. Lot more fun on the chat room when you know first names. (Some you don't even know the gender!)
ßernie
well, I'm a girl, and I like tiG better than my real name. does that help?? LOL!
Dori I can send you GW's list if you want it. I went through the reformat thing too a few weeks ago its no fun and now I have changed servers and emails. bernie I am female. My name is Peggy.
I'm Vicki - female
If you want this info you should contact Gardenwife and be willing to also give your info. It is a great list and she will add you to it and then email the list to you.
arlene
TLC
The only problem using 'real' names is that new people or infrequent people (or me LOL) aren't sure just who is being addressed. Sometimes it can be figured out by reading back over the posts but sometimes not...
TLC she is on the list but she lost it in reformat. I was just trying to help her out by sending it to her. Sure GW would resend it to her I didn't think of that.
I could use a list too!
My name is almost the same: Mollybee
Real name: Molly
O yea and I too am female
I agree with Bernie, Some of these folks you can't tell what gender they are. But....I will tell ya that I had a little joking thing going on with ZZTopsoil about his gender (at the time I didn't know his gender) but there were a few people that "just couldn't understand" why I would want to know that and "why it mattered what the gender was" I guess you could say it kinda got under their skin, because I wanted to know!! I never made my point clear enough to them to have them see my side of the whole thing...so I just dropped it. I must admit it was fun joking back and forth while trying to figure it out....again I guess it got on peoples nerves!! So I nipped it in the bud!! But I do agree, I would love to know if I am chatting with a female or a male in the chat room.

I have gotten woefully behind in getting an update merged and sent out to those participating. For more information on the DG address exchange list, see this thread: http://davesgarden.com/t/369571/
It's the fourth in a series of threads about it. :) I'll plan on sending an update out this week, after folks have had a chance to e-mail me. Let's say a Friday deadline and it will go out this weekend. :)
Yes - good point! Only new additions or folks with changes need e-mail me.
I don't understand what we're talking about.
Adam.
Adam, which part don't you understand - notmartha's (she's Dori) idea, or GW's (Gardenwife is Kimberley or GW) list that she keeps for us?
GW's list is one begun last year by Flowox (she's Susan) in order to make it easier to have pertinent information in one convenient place. On that list, you decide how much you wish to allow other participating members to know about yourself. Typically, it has the DG member name, the actual name in full or part, birthdate (usually month and day), address for snail mail and for e-mail, interests, and maybe another thing or two I forgot.
When Flowox no longer had her online connection, the list sort of went into limbo for a time, and then GW began maintaining it. Only subscribed members who wish to participate receive the list. When new or corrected data is entered by GW, she will send a new list to the email addys of those listed.
I like knowing I can look on my hard copy and find this much information. If my puter has a mishap, I don't have so much trouble rebuilding my contact list. And I have it to take with me if I am going to be traveling and might want to contact members in whose area of the country I might visit.
Is that way more than you were asking?
Aimee (real name: Aimee, and I'm female)
I would like to get on the list that is kept please?? I think most of you know my names I try to sign my posts as often as possbile but just in case.....
Katrina
Please email me info on joining this list :)
Us too!!! Us too!!!
Ron and Gloria
Male and Female !!!
Our farm is Silly Lily Flower Farm - Gender still waiting to be determined........
Katrina, Ron, Gloria, Adam, and others who are interested -- GW has posted a hyperlink (four posts above this one) about the list; that hyperlinked thread contains all info about the list and how to get on it. If you will e-mail GW with your information (what she needs is on the linked thread), you will all be put on the list. It's really nice.
I LOVE the list. I can use the find feature and find people by town, or first name or last name if I only have a bit of info. it's really great!
Not meaning to be my redundant self (or selves) I'm Horseshoe...Male. Most folks call me that, or Shoe, or 'Shoe, untill they get tired of me, then they say "Shoo"! ô¿ô
"eyes", female...........Jerrie.
"eyes"
SoCal....female (I'm pretty sure)....Donna from So. Calif.
Root©ट©¬ Male from Kc.Bob.
elsie, female......Loretta
snowhermit, Terry...female
Aimee ~~~
Thanks..., I didn't know there WAS such a list, so the posts confused me (or else I was having a "moment").
Now I get it ;~)
Thank you.
Adam.
PS: Should I be on this list?

See!!! All this time I was thinking that Snowhermit was male!! Sorry Terry, Please don't be offened! That just goes to show ya "I" need this list!!!!!! LOL
LOL MOLLYBEE. I'm a she last time I looked. :)
Adam, if you want to be on the list, just send GW an e-mail, it's nice to have if you want to send someone something as a surprise, or a birthday card, Christmas card etc.
By the way, my name is Pebble, and I am a female.
and in case you are wondering how I got my name, no...it wasnt because of the flintstones...we werent even in this country when they came out...
My father's name was Stony, and when I was born, I was his little Pebble. I have been called Pebble all my life. It wasnt until we came to the US that people even questioned my name, and boy have I heard all about it. I never thought it was an odd name, all American names were odd, my sister's name is Moyra, my other sister is Molly...they were equally strange. I have thought of changing at times, because I feel kind of funny calling customers and saying
"Hi this is Pebble from so and so company...yada yada yada" the only thing they hear is Pebble....But after this age, (43) what can I change it to? I know it must be odd for someone my age to have such a funny little name....But I honor my father by continuing with the name he picked for me. (pretty long winded there...sorry)
I love that name! "Pebble". Especially now that you've given it's origin! Can't think of a better name than "Pebble"! (Unless maybe it would be "Horseshoe"!)
Thanks for sharing, Pebble! Love it!
That's Beautiful..I need a tissue!!
:O)
Well Pebble!! I never knew you and I were sisters? LOL Tell your sister this Molly said Hi!
Mine's real hard. It's for Frank Andrew Young. My mom's dad was Frank Andrew Kittredge. The milk-man from south Portland.
Mine has no real explanation other than :What was my mom thinking? I am Miguette Polly Arcadia Sansegundo Chapin or Miggy for short
Pebble, I have a friend whose name is Rocky...His mom said she was sure she was just carrying around a bunch of rocks, he was so heavy!
Pebble, I love your name. Nicknames are funny sometimes, but the uniqueness is the appeal. My favorite flower is a trillium. There are several types and it's always a thrill to find them in the woods. In northern PA, I found painted trilliums, awesome. My real name is Carolyn
GW, that's funny...I was actually an iddy bitty baby, barely 4 lbs, maybe that's why I was a pebble?
