Have you ever seen a ghost?

Just wondering how many here believe in Ghost/Spirits??
I have always said I wouldn't believe in ghost unless I see one myself, which I haven't seen this one yet...but my Mother says she has one in her house!
This actually started about 11 yrs ago after my father passed away. My sister and mother had to share a bed because of all the family that came in for the funeral, and as they were laying back to back, my sister said she felt someone lay down in between them!! Several things have happened in the past years but here recently things have gotton worse. There have been nights were she would hear things fall off the counter's and she would find dishes in the floor the next morning! She tought she had rats!! But there is never any sign of rats. She says that one night while asleep in her bed, she felt something bite her...something bigger than a bug....there was no marks on her arm whatsoever!! She believes that the ghost pinched her! I know that sounds too far fetched but weirder things have happened. She then decided to sit up and wait up on it to come, and decided that she should keep her arms under the covers...that night she fell asleep and woke up with what she explained as 4 cold fingers touching her arm!!! My neice was over there at my Mother's house and she saw something in my mom's bedroom, darting back and forth....she told my mom and she said we are the only 2 people here. My neice says but Nana I saw something in there, my Mom said, just move over to the otherside of the sofa where you can't see it...she did, then she saw it dart into the bathroom!!! She has a speech all planned for the next visit, so I just wonder what will happen then!
My sister and I are hoping that nothing ever comes of this, because we have always heard the ole saying that a ghost/spirit will come after a loved one when it's their turn to go.
What do you all think?? Have you ever had any runin's with a ghost??

if this has been going on for 11 yrs i'd say she is safe. does she and or your father have any unfinished business? maybe he will stop his shinanigins if she spoke to him more.
i had a ghost in one place we lived she always kept this one room ice cold until we moved my new baby in it, then it was the warmest room in the house. even if all the other rooms were cold.

We have a small man lives here,he comes around from time to time,sometimes he kicks the reclining coach out,or opens and closes cabnet doors at night,only been seen as shadow a few times,I don't bug him ,he doesn't bug me,He was here first.

Rooty, same with our old Lady, she died in this very old farmhouse years ago.

Every time good things will happen here I say: Oh,nothing special, our old Lady helped us.
She is a good soul and she still is watching the house from heaven.

Glad to hear that it does happen to others. We had began to wonder if my Mother was kinda losing it since she is getting on up there in age. (she is 73) Hopefully this summer I will get to spend more time up there, and maybe I will see what she is seeing

Mollybee, don't count on seeing it. Not everyone can see these beings, even when they are right there with one who does. At the risk of being certified nuts, I have told many people about the old couple who still visit my house. It began even before I formally moved in, numerous little things seen and heard. These two never appear together, but they do seem to be aware of each other, an impression I don't even know how I formed. I don't fear them, but have never succeeded in communicating with them. My daughter was a bit skeptical, just humoring me and not saying much, until one night when she awoke and the old man was next to her bed, then moving around the room. She said she had the distinct feeling he didn't like her and didn't want her there. Usually, he only appeared upstairs, and I thought only to me. I have always felt he didn't like anyone! She has seen him several times since, in three different rooms. She hasn't seen the woman and her dog. In her own house, 107 miles away, it's different. When they moved in, they knew a young woman had died there from leukemia. But my granddarling was only four months old. After a few weeks, she would reach out to some unseen thing or being and smile or laugh. Later, she would pull in a direction and indicate that she wanted to go a spot in the house, the location varying. Finally, when she was talking, she would seem to be looking at someone at the other end of the hall from her room, and she would laugh delightedfully and reach toward it. She often told her mother, "She wants me to play with her", and my daughter would ask who. The reply was always "That little black girl. She wants to play." This was a frequent event, and other times my granddarling would just laugh and wave and reach out to some unseen being. There seems to be no connection with the lady who died there. The house is in an area that has been developed for over 50 years, and no one else has mentioned any such visits, but many people won't talk about such things so this doesn't mean no one else has visitors. I have always been in touch with other-world beings, all my life, and I don't find it strange, but I sure have raised a few suspicions about my mental stability at times.

We were staying in an old B&B a few years ago that was suppose to be haunted. When we were in bed at night I woke up and could hear several conversations going at once. This went on for 2 nights, finally my husband (who couldn't hear anything) said to ask why they were still hear. I heard back very clearly "Because the name wasn't entered into the Bible". I didn't know what to do and after not sleeping for two nights I asked to get some sleep and I never heard anything for the next two nights we were there. I wish we could have helped whomever was still there but we don't live very close and I'm not sure how to go about it.

I guess before I would say I didn't believe in such a thing. Because the person telling me those kinds of things would have this strange look on their face, and that would lead me to think they were a little on the kookie side. But now, I don't doubt for one second that these things are happening to my mother and others here. I guess it is the trust I have in my Mother that has me believing it. She has never lied about such a thing, so I do believe her.
The one that visits her use to smoke. and anyone that doesn't smoke....can smell the scent of smoke alot quicker! She said once that the smoke smell was soo strong that she had to get up and leave the room. She says now that it has been along time since she smelled the ciggarette smoke. I only hope that things don't change for the worse.
Alot of people are telling her that she should talk to it, and say to it "In God's name what do you want with me?" and something about telling it to go back to God and leave her alone!
I asked her today if it came to see her last night and she said it only comes in about 3 or 4 times a week. She says she isn't scared of it at all, but she just wants to know who it is and what they wont with her. Which makes sence to me.

molly when i first read your heading i thought of laughing but new i could not because i too can recount a strange happening. the house my mom and dad used to live in in the 70's had a lady die there before they bought the house. in 1977 we were planning my sisters wedding who was in the air force. mama made her wedding dress and we sat at the table for hours sewing pearls onto the train. we laid thre dress out on mamas bed and went out to eat. when we go back we could not find the dress. no one had been home. dad and brother were on a fishing trip. we searched and searched and finally found the gown wadded up into a ball stuffed into the closet. over the next few years things would come up missing and mama would holler alright bring it back. in a few minutes we would find whatever it was that was missing in some other part of the house where no one had taken it.
now people reading this may think goof balls. no christian could ever believe this. my mama was a devout christian and spent several hours daily in prayer with jesus. i too am a christian but cannot deny that this has happened.

The very book most people cite as their authority for things religious has innumerable references to spirits or visions. How one can believe this is contrary to those teachings mystifies me. Just as there are still visible and obvious miracles, so are there still contacts with the departed. Because one has never experienced this is no reason to discredit it, and I personally feel more confident of sanity in one with an open mind enough to at least accept the possibility. Being able to accept this possibility means an admission that we don't know everything.

a friend of mine had something in the last house he lived in and asked me to come over and get rid of it for him. I took over the things that i needed and started in the atic and worked my way down the house we were on the second floor and he was shutting the doors of the rooms after i was finished with the room. we had just left the room thes his girls shared had we heard something rattle in the room i went back in and did it again. then finished with the rest of the house. after that day they never had anything else appear in the house again.

Ok Troy, Can you come to my Mother's house? I'd pay your airfare if I knew it would help!

What is being seen/heard is called a familiar spirit. Each of us has a spirit from the evil side of the spiritual realm who learns everything about us as well as an angel from the LORD who is there to lead us to JESUS and guide us thru life at HIS direction. Depending on whether or not we accept JESUS as our personal savior, either the familiar spirit or the angel is with us the most. The Bible says that when a Believer dies they immediately go in the presence of GOD and unbelievers go directly to eternal punishment. So these being you are seeing are NOT the spirits of any departed humans. There need to be dealt with in the name of JESUS and told to go back to where they came from. Only the name of JESUS is powerful enough to dispel their presence.

there is one in the house i live in. she doesn't bother us much. we just find the kitchen light on in the morning sometimes. there is one at work also saw a door open one day and there was a shadow on the floor when i went to the door there was no one there it was not a door that was used by any one fery often. as long as they don't bother me they can stay. one of my teachers in high school had one in there house also he told us of rocking chairs rocking and lights hanging from the cieling swaying but it never bothered anyone so they just lived with it and got used to it.

We have a very small town south of us that has a population of about 50. The main highway runs right through this small town and there's a courthouse, cafe and gas station on that highway. The cafe used to be a combination cafe/gas station many many years ago.

When I was a Creative Memories consultant, I was asked to come to this cafe to meet with several locals who wanted to learn about scrapbooking. Wonderful!

The day I was to be there, I got there about an hour early in order to pack all my stuff in and set up. When I was on about my 4th trip through the door with my bags, a plant literally jumped off a shelf about 6 feet away and crashed to the floor. I felt so bad thinking that I had somehow managed to knock it off with my bags or something. The owner of the cafe said that it's the poltergeist that lives there, and not to worry about it. She said that they have had tons of things like that happen. Some people can see a portrait in a mirror in the upstairs dining area. Some have seen a young boy darting around the dining room, and lots of little boy "naughty" things that happen.

She had someone come in and try to get rid of him, (can't remember if she said it was a priest or not), but it didn't work. She did some research and found out that a long time ago, when the cafe was a cafe/gas station, the owners had a young child and he ran out onto the highway that is right in front of the building and he was killed. They have decided that this is the boy's home and just accept him and his shenanigans.

I've never seen one but I truly believe they exist. No one has lived in our house before, but I think something is here, at least sometimes. Or maybe it is just my imagination. When I was little, in the first grade, I was pretty afraid alone in the house, especially before going to school in the morning. Well, I am not afraid anymore, but when I read this I got pretty scared :} I'm just leaving to school ;)

I still have my grandmas and one grandpa, and I hope we get everything "solved" before they die (hopefully not soon yet) so they don't have to visit me after it!

I would like to know where to find the scriptures you are talking about, Leaflady. I always thought it said we would lie dead until the second coming. Is this something different?

I dont believe in ghost-becuz the bible says the dead know nothing they sleep till Jesus comes! I believe that Satan and 1/3of the angels fell from heaven and are bound to this earth and they can FOOL even the most elect.
