Secret Snack 2003

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

Hi everyone!

It’s that time again. I've been asked to start another secret snack trade.

Do you have a favorite snack? Something that’s easily made, or can be purchased in a store at a low to moderate cost? Are you willing to send someone their favorite snack? Then you might be interested in the secret snack trade.

Here’s what we’ll do: If everybody interested sends me their information (see below) by March 14, I will match everybody up with another person. Each will receive an email with the other person’s information. Then, let’s all aim to have our snacks packaged and mailed by April 1.

Each person interested must send me:

Full Name
DG Name
Mailing Address
Email you check most frequently
Top 3 favorite snacks (if it has an odd name, please explain what it is, in case it's called something different in another regional area)

Since I know nothing about trading with other countries, if you are not from the US, but are interested, please first check about whether you can mail and receive food items. If you cannot, and I receive interest from more than one person from your country, I’ll match you up as best I can.

Finally, in the event that you sign up for the trade, and later discover you will not be able to fulfill your obligation of mailing to your secret snack person, I will need to know ASAP. I can't imagine a more disappointing feeling than sending a snack, then not receiving anything in return. There will be no assigned minimum or maximum value to these trades - it's up to each person to give as generously as they would enjoy receiving.

If you have questions, please post them here. Email me through DG with information only. Please include in the subject line “ Snack Trade Information “.

I look forward to hearing from each and every one of you,
Thanks,
-Jennifer

So glad that you decided to do this again. Thank you, and you can count me in

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I am surprised to see you willing to do this again! What a job, matching participants, keeping us all on track. But I'm unable to resist joining in. Who's next?

Albany (again), NY(Zone 5b)

I'm next - last year's was the highlight of my week when I received it. Now, knowing a bit more about how these work, I am looking forward to this!

There will be no joke on this end; as mine will be mailed by April Fools Day. Really looking forward to this once again.

Pittsburgh, PA(Zone 6a)

Food? ha!!! You know I'm in! Especially chocolate!!

sbarr, you're right!! It's a highlight in a week. The anticipation of knowing something yummy is coming just for you. YUM YUM!!!! And who can resist a snack....

Just imagine, you're sitting at your computer and waiting for something to load. And there's a bowl of "something" or a bag of "something" beside you. ahhhh,,,,YES!!!!!!!

Count me in Jenn!!!

Come on folks; don't tell me that you wouldn't like to receive something nice and sweet in the mail?

Dover, NH(Zone 5a)

What a great idea! I would love to be a part of this! I will send my info to Angelsong ASAP.

glad to have you Rudbeckia. I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as the rest of us have.
Would be nice if more would sign up for this. It's alot of fun and what great excitment opening up a 'sweet' package that you don't normally get in the mail.

Dover, NH(Zone 5a)

I am bumping this up to the top again so more folks can see it. I think that this is a great idea...who can resist treats? It will be exciting to get something nice in the mail...hope it will displace some of the bills in our box! LOL!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

If someone is hesitant to join for fear of having to spend a lot of money, don't be. I welcome a package of Snickers or a jar of that flavored neufachatel cheese, the pinkish kind with pimiento, and totally enjoy it as the gift it is. We're not trying to feed the fleet here, just have a little fun and bring a smile to the face of a friend.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

I'm in! Never done this before, other than regular round robins that is. But I'd have to really think long and hard about what my favorite thing really is LOL

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Aw, Mollybee, just say chocolate and you can't lose. Last year, CoCo just said M&Ms, I think, and I felt like such a slacker when I didn't send her some exclusive thing. Still, she posted nice things about me! It's a lot of fun.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

I'm getting excited now! Can't wait!!

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

If you're still considering joining up, please act fast! The deadline for joining is this Friday,March 14.

Thanks again! This should be a fun time, even with such a small bunch..

Now Aimee, how easy we forget. You also sent me some of those wonderful pastel party mints, in a cute little basket; which I still have and use by the way. The candy is gone but I have the basket as a reminder of friendship; along with the extra pound or two.
I'm easy to please, no matter how small the item may be. I just have fun taking part in this; and a big thank you to AngelSong for agreeing to organize this once again this year.

I did? Well, how about that! I wasn't even sure about the Ms, because the thing I really enjoyed was that I sent that precious little seedling my sister and I had wondered about for several years. Bam, you and Baa had it identified in no time flat. That was a real fun part for me, because you took it and ran with it.

BTW, I did as promised and left some in a bed on the SE side of my fenced yard. I can hardly wait to see if it reseeds or in any manner returns. One I have growing on my snack bar, an old one, has formed a sort of thickened stem or root above the soil and branched out almost as if it would be trailing in a natural habitat.

The ripple effect of snack trades is amazing.
