any idea what the matter with this is??

Sarasota, FL(Zone 9b)

I have several plants like this...the new growth seems to be fine. Should I trim it all and start over?? Seems to be on the passifloras and black eyed Susan vine.

A mosaic virus?

Tokyo, Japan

Could be mites. Check the underside of the lives with a magnifying glass.

Good luck!

Hmmmm....I noticed something like that on my passiflora alata, only on the lower leaves tho (just a couple of them), I pulled off the leaves and haven't seen it on any of the others. Didn't see signs of mites, altho I do get aphids from time to time on other plants, and they tend to like the tips of plants.

It is possible that this is Chlorosis.

From the link below, "In mild cases, the leaf tissue is pale green, but leaf veins remain green."

could be a virus. Could be temporary, you might check in the plant book under virus issues.

I think that the veins staying green is a huge hint..., nutritional..., I will stay with my guess.

I've had exactly this look on some leaves, and corrected it with MnSO4 at 0.85 grams per square foot of soil. Takes a little while for it to work. But it does.

Adam, can you explain this please? These plants are in pots and I have to admit that I have been lax in a fertilizing program so I bet that's it. I just wonder why ALL the plants are not this way. I need to prune these passifloras so hopefully I will get this under control. any pruning suggestions appreciated...I am NOT a good pruner...mush too timid I am afraid!

Why not take a leaf to your county agent's office? I find lots of help when I do this.
