Valentine's Day

Perrysburg, OH(Zone 5a)

Hi everyone,
I've not been around lately as I've been preparing for our big day at the flower shop. I manage one of six stores in our company, and we've been on high gear for the past month with all the last minute things. We started receiving our roses this week, over 20,000 of them!!!!

What would you like for Valentine's day?? Personally I prefer plants to cut flowers, I'm sure alot of us here do.
I always try to steer guys away from the usual red roses with babies breath, to opt for something different. One of favorites is white roses with seeded eucalyptus, very elegant. How about you????
What are your favorite combinations for cut flowers??
Wish me luck this week,
Becky

Becky, this must be one hectic time for you! I like that you try to steer people toward the more unusual arrangements. Bright-colored combinations with lilies and glads appeal to me, and always roses -- but I wish roses were still bred for smell and not size. Here's hoping you have an enjoyable (even if busybusybusy) holiday week and Valentine's Day.

Alstromerias with anything else works for me :) I put them with roses, outstanding. I put them with ornamental grass, wow! I put them with ferns, baby's breath, you name it!!!

Hope you aren't too overwhelmed with the work to enjoy the day with your loved ones :)

I also love the little nosegay bouquets: violets mostly, but also combined with tiny double feverfew works so well.
