Yes, it snowed!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Well, sort of. It was sleeting about 2 A.M., and when I looked out at dawn, there was a light dusting of powder. Barely measurable, but it appeared to be actual snow. Granddarling wanted to come for the night so she could see it, as they rarely get anything like snow in San Antonio, but her mother nixed our plans. So she asked me to call her the minute I saw snow, and to immediately go out and gather her some snowballs, place them in a A Ziplock bag and put them in the freezer for her. I did all that was asked of me, but doubt seriously that they will still be snowballs by the time she gets here. My ancient fridge has a nasty habit of cutting off just when something perishable is in the freezer, and I must sock it in the icemaker to restart it. Oh, why didn't I get the replacement now instead of waiting for the porch to be finished??? Anyway, it started out as Central Texas snow.

Did'ya build a snow man?

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Ha, I would have needed ten people to gather enough snow before it melted. I walked around outside the fenced area and looked for a good patch, but was challenged to make a container of snowballs. The snowball fight we will probably have will be extremely short and might just be a water fight. Some children came to Georgetown from a small community south of Austin, and made a snowman in the park by the river. It made the news on at least one Austin tv station.
