It Took How Long?

Dave ~~~

This page took 0.036980032920837 seconds to generate.

Couldn't you be a little more precise?

;~)

Adam, are you running a "Deep Blue" program? :-^) Frank.

I got that message at the bottom of one of my forum nosings earlier ... it is a feature from long ago. Didja notice how the font was different?

Ha - thanks Aot. :) I figured 15 decimal places would be enough. :)

Also, notice the new server. I installed it at about 4:00pm today and it hasn't crashed yet! It's about 5-6 times faster than the old server.

Keeping my fingers crossed that this server is the one that will keep us going!

I must have my fingers crossed as well, accounts for my gniepyt.

Maybe you posted to the mirror site, Adam. ;)

Funny girl, GW.

Dave, I have a screaming T~1 connection with one hop to the switch, so the thing runs faster than I can think anyway (my brain is a Commodore 64 webtard), but will certainly help all our frinds with dialups.

Here's a question..., when you sniff browsers, what are people using? Care to post a census of our site users?

Many, many many thanks for the updates :) Hope you are getting some well-deserved rest after all the troubles.

You go, man!

Adam, I am one of those with a dialup connection, used to take 30-40 seconds between "submit" and "back to the forum" pages. Now it takes about 3 seconds :)

That's WONDERFUL.

That's a ten~fold improvement in page load times.

Great work Dave ! ! ! ! !

I'm on dial-up as well, and the phone system out here is so old that my 56 modem only opperates at 28, and all I know about that is that it is slow and 1/2 again slower. Things are moving much faster for me, except that I have to refresh everytime I go to my home page. It seems to be in a time warp.

Kathleen, have you tried changing the settings for temporary internet files in IE's Internet Options? I have mine set to check for a newer version of a page every time I visit one.

LOL, come on, Kimberley, I'm lucky when I can find the keys on the keyboard! I'll have a look around, one never knows!
