American Heart Association

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

This is from Smiln's daughter, Bethany.

Hi. I am participating in Jump Rope for Heart again this year and my goal is to raise $1,000 for the American Heart Association. This is special to me because my grandfather died of heart disease. I am 10 years old and I go to Alabama Christian Academy in Montgomery, AL.

For the past 3 years, our school has raised more money for the American Heart Association than any other school in the state. Last year, we were 27th in the nation with more than $25,000 in donations.

If you can help me reach my goal, then you will help other people, too.

Email my mom for more details. Thank you for your time.

Love,
Bethany

I have not received any emails from anyone regarding this, which is really fine. But, it looks like Bethany is going to be around $100 shy of her goal. If anyone could help out, that would be great. We've worked very hard, sending letters to friends and family (even the mayor and governor), asked people at church and we have walked for hours door to door. She has pledges and donations that we expect to get her to $850 for sure and maybe a little more.

Like I said, if you could help out, please let me know.

Thanks so much,

Carla

My kids are doing it too. :) It really hits home for us as well. Hubby had his first heart attack last year; has heart disease too and they never even met their grandfather because of it. Good luck to Bethany!

Thank you for posting your messages. I am so thankful that your children are participating, too. My grandmother had close to a dozen strokes as well, so we hope that this money will help them learn more about that, too.

Thank you to everyone for helping out with this wonderful project. Bethany will jump like crazy next Friday. We're going to practice jumping for the next few days so that she will be in shape. :)

God bless each and every one of you.
