There are 10,000 types of spiders. All 10,000 live in Georgia, plus a couple
no one's seen before.

Squirrels will eat anything.

If it grows, it sticks; if it crawls, it bites.

A tractor is NOT an all terrain vehicle. They do get stuck.

Onced and Twiced are words.

It is not a shopping cart, it is a buggy.

Fire ants consider your flesh as a picnic.

People actually grow and eat okra.

There ain't no such thing as "lunch". There's only dinner and then there's
supper.

Tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you're 2.
sweet tea that is!!!

Jeet? is actually a phrase meaning "Did you eat?"

You don't have to wear a watch because it doesn't matter what time it is.
You work until you're done or it's too dark to see.

More about Georgians...:

You know you're from Georgia if:

1. You measure distance in minutes.
2. You've ever had to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.
3. Stores don't have bags; they have sacks.
4. You see a car running in the parking lot at the store with no one in it,
no matter what time of the year.
5. You use "fix" as a verb. Example: I am fixing to go to the store.
6. All the festivals across the state are named after a fruit, vegetable,
grain, insect or animal
7. You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both
unlocked.
8. You carry jumper cables in your car ... for your OWN car.
9. You know what "cow tipping" is.
10. You only own four spices: salt, pepper, chili powder, and catsup.
11. The local papers cover national and international news on one page but
requires 6 pages for local gossip and sports.
12. You think that the first day of deer season is a national holiday.
13. You find 100 degrees Fahrenheit "a little warm."
14. You know all four seasons: Almost summer, summer, still summer, and
Christmas.
15. You know whether another Georgian is from east, west, or middle Georgia
as soon as they open their mouth.
16. Going to Wal-Mart is a favorite past-time known as "goin wal-martin" or
off to "Wally World."
17. You describe the first cool snap (below 70 degrees) as good chili
weather.
18. A carbonated soft drink isn't a soda, cola, or pop... it's a Coke,
regardless of brand or flavor. Example "What kinna coke you want?"
19. Fried Catfish is the other white meat.
20. You understand these jokes and forward them to your friends from
Georgia.

Camilla, GA(Zone 8a)

GO Cow Tipping:
v 1. to push cows over while they are sleeping. This is seen as an amusing activity by some. ("We went cow tipping last night.") It's kind of like Snipe hunting, but not as fun.. You gotta be there..I never cared for tipping cows, although it doesn't hurt them..Every one deserves a good nights sleep..LOL

Ain't we glad we live here.

Northport, ME(Zone 5b)

20 or 30 years ago us yankees got a warning about Ludoweekee GA. (SP?) as the worst place for speed traps. Still true? Frank.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

It was true - but I think they had to stop that, they stopped the wrong person one day - a politician as I recall. I used to live not far from there just over the Fl line at Hilliard. At the same time the little village of Bolonge, Fl was known for the same thing. It seems they had bought a string of expensive highway lights that they had to pay for and an outrageous light bill. They dropped their city charter so the State could take over the bills! Giving tickets was the main source of income. It looked like you were coming into Disney World when you crossed the Fl State line, and Disney World wasn't even thought of then in the 60's.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Lol,
reading this I felt back to Ga.

Ellabell, GA(Zone 8a)

That is so funny and so true!
Frankay, the place is called Ludowici. Coming in to town on 84 in one direction they drop you down from 55 to 35 in about 200 yards. From the other direction it's 65 to 35 in about 500 yards. It's hard to be at the right speed that fast.

Northport, ME(Zone 5b)

Then I'm not really getting senile! Frank.

Northport, ME(Zone 5b)

Well maybe i am. went to chat room. very fast. backed out and chat room is now a gray screen only.Sometimes I'm in "Conservative" chat room. Any of you? Frank

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I stuck my head in the door looking for Datdog, that chatroom was flying by so fast I thought I was going Senile,LOL,It's gray to me too.

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

I liked the one about "summer" -- put me in mind of what people in Arizona used to say: best part about summer is that all the snowbirds have flown away.

Then about the Northeast (I have heard this about several different states, but usually about Maine): There are two seasons: winter and the Fourth of July ;D
