E-bay has yanked several auctions for shettle piecs already. I saw that coming. Sorta makes you sick, doesn't it?!
Shuttle pieces on e-bay
I consider those people monsters, they also may get a bad surprise-there were warnings about the toxic degree of the pieces.
Yes, the news was warning everyone not to touch them. The pieces will be needed to figure out what happened. I would imagine they could be arrested for taking them.
Yes. A horrible tragic event, sold like a novelty item... what else would someone who would buy this have... pieces from the twin towers. No compassion for the families of the dead. Are people all so cold inside that such a event don't horrify them any more? I know tragic events sure bother me terribly, I can feel the horror and sorrow of the families and communities. These are not just nameless strangers, they are someone's mother, father, son.... Ok, I'm getting off my soapbox now. I just want to say that people who profit off these events...it should be against the law.
How disgusting!! I hope these people pay for their disrespect. How can one profit from the dead at this time, when the whole world is mourning? And Crimson,it made me sick visiting the WTC site last summer, and seeing so many tourists just getting a thrill out of being there, and the street vendors profiting from what should be a hallowed site.I cried my eyes out at first, knowing I would never see those towers again..then I got really angry when I saw people trying to jump the fences,or enter the site.I couldn't imagine they would do that if they lived there, and lost a part of their childhood,or memory as I did.Even my son hated to see these people desecrating this place, and he is only 18.O.k.,soapbox is gone...but anger still remains, and I hope they do get arrested,Snow.

Yeah, sell me a piece of the Hindenburg, maybe with some burnt flesh on it
I heard that they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for theft of Government Property. I hope they do! These people deserve to be treated like the criminals that they are! IMHO
If its true...that they really had a piece, I've heard on the news that you could be fined up to $250,000 for moving/stealing anything from the shuttle.
Sorry to hear the Shuttle news.
I was going to post something, then thought they ain't worth talking about!

I checked lastnight about 6 o'clock and didn't see any shuttle pieces being offered so either E-bay is removing them right away or this is being blown out of proportion.
I DID see alot of legitimate Columbia memorabilia being offered, which is not illegal, but even some of that was ridiculous. $150 for a t-shirt? There were also some idiots trying to sell Columbia related domain names for an exhorbitant price, but E-bay was removing those as well.
And I might add: People are bidding on the Columbia memorabilia on E-bay like there's no tomorrow! Go to E-bay and type in "Columbia shuttle" and look at some of the bids that are being placed!
I guess this is just one of those events that brings out the best AND the worst in some people.

i thought about that too-dont they realize the fbi will bw knockin on their doors!
when dale earnhardt ddied the prices on ebay were jumping up like wild fire.
its all so sad.
The human race can be an embarrassment. What we call civilization is downright disgusting in many ways. It is strange to me, this need to do or have things from tragic events. So what does one do after such an acquisition, build a display case and put it under lights? Give them time, and those sickos will be sueing because of the alleged effects of having handled the material, despite having been warned.
I heard yesterday that there were 8 people hospitalized who had touched the stuff..
Very morbid...
